BROADCAST TUTORIAL: STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

One of the greatest new features of the Playstation 4 is that we can broadcast our games live via Twitch.tv or Ustream. This tutorial will show you how to broadcast your game via Twitch, then archive the game and upload it to YouTube so you can save the game and use it for scouting reports, or just for your enjoyment.

Step 1: Obviously the first thing you want to do is sign up for twitch. www.twitch.tv and click on signup. Enter all the information you need, and then login to your channel.

Step 2: After your account is setup and you are logged in. The first thing we're going to do is make sure your twitch broadcasts are archiving. Hover over your username, and select "Settings":

Step 3: You are going to see options at the top of your screen, you are going to choose "Channel & Videos". Then you are going to scroll down and make sure "Archive Broadcasts" is checked. This will archive your broadcasts, and keep them in video archive for about 2 or 3 weeks.

Step 4: Now your twitch is setup to archive. So let's go to the PS4. To broadcast your game, the first thing we're going to do is click the "Share" button on your PS4 controller. Hit the Options button, and choose Share Settings so that we can configure settings and also link our Ustream and/or Twitch accounts. Here, we can configure several settings in regards to game sharing including Video Clip settings, Share button control type, linking to other services, and Broadcasting settings.

Step 5: Once an account is linked/set up, you can now start a game and either Tap or Hold the Share button to bring up the screenshot upload, video sharing, or broadcasting screens. Once you choose broadcasting, you can then choose either Twitch or Ustream. If Twitter or Facebook is connected to your PS4′s user account, you can choose to send out tweets and posts when you start broadcasting.

Step 6: You are going to choose twitch. Once an account is linked/set up, you can now start a game and either Tap or Hold the Share button to bring up the screenshot upload, video sharing, or broadcasting screens. Once you choose broadcasting, you can then choose either Twitch or Ustream. If Twitter or Facebook is connected to your PS4′s user account, you can choose to send out tweets and posts when you start broadcasting. Also in this screen you can choose to include your camera, microphone, or comments on the screen while you play. In the Channel Name PLEASE INCLUDE (SGO/League Name/ Week teams are playing) This way we can determine if you are broadcasting your game or not via email.

Step 7: After you are done broadcasting your game, click the "Share" button once again, and you can stop your broadcast. Now we are going to go back to twitch.tv to export the video to YouTube. First thing you want to do is create a YouTube account and verify it via email. Once you do that, link your YouTube account to your twitch. You can either enter your settings like we did before, or you can click the wrench in your profile page to enter the twitch settings:

Step 8: You will then see again, the top options in the Twitch settings screen. Choose connections. You will see in here ways to connect your social accounts, facebook, twitter, youtube. We're going to roll over the check mark next to YouTube and click "Connect".

Step 9: A pop up screen will pop up asking you what account you want to link up. It will be a google account, because YouTube and Google have merged. Just choose your account and click "accept". You will then see a green check mark next to YouTube.

Step 10: After you have successfully linked your verified YouTube account with your twitch account, select on the left under your name "Video Manager" (Note: you might have to click the down arrow under messages to display all the options).

Step 11: In this screen you will see all your past broadcasts. You will choose the game that you want to upload to YouTube, and select "Export"

Step 12: The screen to export to YouTube will pop up. You want to make sure the title is right, make sure the video is Public and do not split it into 15 minute clips. Once you have all the settings correct, select export. You will receive an email once the video has successfully been exported. It make take a little bit longer for the video to become processed (about 30-45 minutes).

Step 13: After the video has been processed and you can view the video on YouTube, it is ready to be placed inside of a scouting report! Open your video in YouTube and right click on the screen, you will see options, select "Get Video URL". You are going to make sure the URL is highlighted, and right click it and choose copy.

Now the video is on youtube and you can share via the link.
