A couple of league members asked my opinion on "Commish, what would you say are 'realistic' statistics ... both individually and as an entire team?"

Here are some stats from real NFL competition, based on the Fall 2013 season:

Team stats - Offense

Average passing yards per game

Best team in the NFL (Denver) averaged 340.3 passing yards per game

Worst team in the NFL (Tampa Bay) averaged 176.3 passing yards per game

Average rushing yards per game

Best team in the NFL (Philadelphia) averaged 160.4 rushing yards per game

Worst team in the NFL (Atlanta) averaged 77.9 rushing yards per game

Average points scored per game

Best team in the NFL (Denver) averaged 37.9 points per game

Worst team in the NFL (Jacksonville) averaged 15.4 points per game

Team stats - Defense

Average passing yards allowed per game

Best team in the NFL (Seattle) allowed an average of 172.0 passing yards per game

Worst team in the NFL (Philadelphia) allowed an average of 289.8 passing yards per game

Average rushing yards allowed per game

Best team in the NFL (Arizona) allowed an average of 84.4 rushing yards per game

Worst team in the NFL (Chicago) allowed an average of 161.4 rushing yards per game

Average points allowed per game

Best team in the NFL (Seattle) allowed an average of 14.4 points per game

Worst team in the NFL (Minnesota) allowed an average of 30.0 points per game

Average number of sacks per game

Best team in the NFL (Carolina) accumulated an average of roughly 4 sacks per game

Worst team in the NFL (Chicago and Jacksonville tied) accumulated an average of roughly 2 sacks per game

Average number of interceptions per game

Best team in the NFL (Seattle) accumulated an average of roughly 2 picks per game

Worst team in the NFL (Houston) only accumulated 7 picks in 16 games
