MLB Home Run Derby is available for virtual reality. The popular contest title can be played on Sony PlayStation VR and HTC Vive.

VR MLB Home Run Derby

MLB Home Run Derby VR is the first-of-its-kind bringing the action of home run hitting to the palm of your hands. The game features three All-Star ballparks from 2017-19. Additionally, it’s the very first console VR video game built by a U.S. professional sports league. Each ballpark is authentically recreated in the game. Fans will witness high-fidelity 3D environments, bringing the VR experience to life. Global leaderboards will showcase fans’ standings on Sony PlayStation VR and SteamVR. Lastly, MLB Home Run Derby VR will go for $19.99 on retail.

MLB Home Run Derby Mobile

Debuting with its VR counterpart is an update for the popular MLB Home Run Mobile game. The 2018 update includes all 30 current MLB ballparks. Additionally, there are both single and multiplayer modes for a chance to capture the Derby crown. The 2018 version also includes high resolution renders of more than 50 participants from the past eight competitions.

Below are key details from the official release:

  • Earn packs and collect cards to unlock and improve the Derby participants, upgrading stats to compete at any level. New card packs will be loaded with rewards at every level and during the season will include special limited time only rewards.
  • In addition to the historical Derby participants, fans will be able to play with some of their favorite active MLB players as they will be added over the course of this season and then will be available for a limited time only.
  • Multiplayer mode has been completely redeveloped, featuring a faster pace, increased competition and an all-new one-on-one option to compete directly against your friends and family.
