This is the next-to-last installment of The JFF Power Rankings, and this edition will again center on the very competitive races for the various playoff seeds. There are a few games remaining in JFF Week Sixteen and JFF Week Seventeen that have major playoff implications.

What are the Week #16 and Week #17 games that have the most potential impact on AFC and NFC playoffs seedings? Below are some of the human user vs. human user games that have a high degree of playoff implications

Urgency Rating (next to each match-up, in parentheses):

5-Star = If one of the two teams involved in the match-up loses, they are definitely eliminated from JFF playoffs contention
4-Star = If one of the two teams involved in the match-up loses, they are one additional loss away from missing The JFF Playoffs entirely
3-Star = If one of the two teams involved in the match-up loses, they run the risk of relinquishing the division title to one of their three division rivals
2-Star = If one of the two teams involved in the match-up loses, they run the risk of dropping down to a lower seed in the AFC Conference Playoffs or the NFC Conference Playoffs
1-Star = Neither team involved in this match-up is at risk of missing the playoffs, or dropping down to a lower seed, if they lose

Week #16 – Crucial Games in the AFC Conference

1 – JFF Buffalo Bills AT JFF Miami Dolphins 3.5 Stars

What’s at stake for the JFF Bills: This game is not really important for the JFF Bills, because they already have the #1 Seed in the AFC Conference locked up. Their only goal is to remain unbeaten and finish the Regular Season with an undefeated win-loss record.

What’s at stake for the JFF Dolphins: This contest is very important for Josh’s JFF Miami Dolphins if they want to secure the #6 Seed in the AFC Conference. If the JFF Dolphins lose to the JFF Bills, they would absolutely, positively have to defeat the JFF Philadelphia Eagles in Week Seventeen.

2 – JFF Baltimore Ravens AT JFF Denver Broncos 3 Stars

What’s at stake for the JFF Ravens: James and his JFF Baltimore Ravens need to win this contest in order to have a chance at moving up from the #5 Seed to the #2 Seed or #3 Seed. If Baltimore loses this game, more than likely they will not rise higher than the #5 Seed in the AFC Conference playoffs.

What’s at stake for the JFF Broncos: Afroman’s JFF Denver Broncos absolutely need to win this contest in order to keep their hopes alive of winning the AFC West Division. If Denver loses, more-than-likely, their playoff hopes will be dashed.

2 – JFF Cincinnati Bengals AT JFF Kansas City Chiefs 2.5 Stars

What’s at stake for the JFF Bengals: Haywood’s JFF Bengals are already out of the playoffs, but that doesn’t mean that they cannot play the role of “spoiler” when playing against teams whose playoff hopes are still alive. In fact, Cincinnati already knocked off the JFF Denver Broncos in Week Fifteen to pull of a huge upset while at the same time, damaging Denver’s playoff hopes.

What’s at stake for the JFF Chiefs: Plain and simple, Kruz’s JFF Kansas City Chiefs have to win this game. They have to. If Kansas City loses this game, their chances of winning the AFC West Division are slim and none.

Week #17 – Crucial Games in the AFC Conference

2 – JFF Kansas City Chiefs AT JFF Buffalo Bills 2.5 Stars

What’s at stake for the JFF Chiefs: If Kruz is able to defeat the JFF Bengals in Week Sixteen, then this game will also be a “must win” game for Kansas City. If Kansas City loses this game, they must hope that the JFF Broncos lose to the JFF Chargers and the JFF Raiders lose to the JFF Titans in order for them to secure the AFC West Division title.

What’s at stake for the JFF Bills: Again, Trevor’s JFF Buffalo Bills have the #1 Seed wrapped up, so their only incentive for winning this game is to maintain an undefeated Regular Season record.

2 – JFF Tennessee Titans AT JFF Oakland Raiders 2.5 stars

What’s at stake for the JFF Titans: This game is important to Brett’s JFF Tennessee Titans if they want to maintain the #2 Seed, especially if they knock off the JFF Carolina Panthers in Week Sixteen.

What’s at stake for the JFF Raiders: This is a must-win contest for Musashi’s JFF Oakland Raiders if they desire to win the AFC West Division. No ifs, ands, or buts. They must win this game.

1 – JFF Cincinnati Bengals AT JFF Baltimore Ravens 1.5 stars

What’s at stake for the JFF Bengals: Haywood’s JFF Cincinnati Bengals can continue to play spoiler by knocking off the more favored JFF Baltimore Ravens. They would not knock Baltimore out of the playoffs, but they would prevent them from moving up to a higher seed and claiming the AFC North Division title.

What’s at stake for the JFF Ravens: If James a.k.a. “Viking” and his JFF Baltimore Ravens want to have a chance at winning the AFC North Division title, they must win this game. Especially if the JFF Cleveland Browns lose to the JFF Arizona Cardinals in Week Sixteen.

Week #16 – Crucial Games in the NFC Conference

4 – JFF San Francisco 49ers AT JFF Seattle Seahawks 3 Stars

What’s at stake for the JFF 49ers: Cadillac’s JFF 49ers need to win this game to clinch the NFC West Division title. If San Francisco loses to San Francisco, the best they could hope for is the #5 Seed in the NFC Conference playoffs.

What’s at stake for the JFF Seahawks: Just like Cadillac, Shane’s JFF Seattle Seahawks absolutely must win this game in order to have a chance at clinching the NFC West title. If Seattle loses this game, the best they can hope for is the #5 Seed in the NFC Conference playoffs.

2 – JFF New York Giants AT JFF Philadelphia Eagles 2.5 Stars

What’s at stake for the JFF New York Giants: Coach Sweat can play the role of “spoiler” and help the JFF Dallas Cowboys win the NFC East Division title instead of the JFF Philadelphia Eagles.

What’s at stake for the JFF Eagles: Que’s JFF Philadelphia Eagles must win this game to keep their hopes alive of claiming the NFC East Division title.
Week #17 – Crucial Games in the NFC Conference

Week #16 – Important Inter-Conference Games

JFF Carolina Panthers AT JFF Tennessee Titans 3.5 Stars

What’s at stake for the JFF Panthers: The Natural’s JFF Carolina Panthers actually need to win this game in order to secure the NFC South Division title. If Carolina wins this game, they will be practically assured of the #1 Seed and homefield advantage throughout the entire NFC Conference playoffs.

What’s at stake for the JFF Titans: Brett’s JFF Tennessee Titans ideally want to win this game in order to maintain a grip on the #2 Seed in the AFC Conference playoffs. If Tennessee loses this game, they would be at risk of dropping down to the #3 Seed in the AFC Conference playoffs.

JFF Arizona Cardinals AT JFF Cleveland Browns 3.5 Stars

What’s at stake for the JFF Cardinals: Damian’s playoff hopes have pretty much ended for this JFF Arizona Cardinals, but they very well could prevent Kory G’s JFF Cleveland Browns from securing the AFC North Division title and the #2 Seed or #3 Seed in the AFC Conference playoffs.

What’s at stake for the JFF Browns: Kory G’s JFF Cleveland Browns really need to win this game in order to secure the AFC North Division title and secure no lower than the #3 Seed in the AFC Conference playoffs.

Week #17 – Important Inter-Conference Games

JFF Philadelphia Eagles AT JFF Miami Dolphins 3.5 Stars

What’s at stake for the JFF Eagles: If Que’s JFF Philadelphia Eagles knock off the JFF New York Giants in Week Sixteen, then this Week Seventeen contest is not quite as important. But if Philadelphia loses to New York, then this match-up with Josh’s JFF Miami Dolphins becomes a “must win” contest.

What’s at stake for the JFF Dolphins: If Josh’s JFF Miami Dolphins lose to the JFF Buffalo Bills in Week Sixteen, then Miami has to win this game in order to secure the #6 Seed in the AFC Conference playoffs. If two of these three teams finish with seven losses – Denver, Kansas City, and/or Oakland – then this contest does not matter.

JFF Dallas Cowboys AT JFF New York Jets 3.5 Stars

What’s at stake for the JFF Cowboys: If the JFF Philadelphia Eagles lose to the JFF New York Giants in Week Sixteen, then this becomes a HUGE game for Cliff’s JFF Dallas Cowboys. They would then need to win this contest in order to secure the NFC East Division title.

What’s at stake for the JFF N.Y. Jets: Tyson’s JFF New York Jets have pretty much been eliminated from contention for a playoff berth in the AFC Conference playoffs, but they could still play the role of ‘spoiler’ and prevent Dallas from having a chance at winning the NFC East Division title.
