We offer readers exclusive interviews, columns, tips and tricks to help better their game while also covering the latest news and releases in the world of sports gaming.
We don’t believe in the “pay you with experience” model. Our writers are on a word-based payment plan and is perfect for those either just breaking into the industry or looking for extra income on the side. That being said, this is not a full-time position, nor does it pay like one.

NEWS WRITER:
The staff writer position is at the front of all of the news in the industry. Our readers rely on the news staff to make sure they get all of the news they need to know as soon as it’s released.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring various news feeds for breaking news
- Wribting and editing news stories
- Reporting on conventions, trade events, and press events
- Collaborate with staff to create new and exciting content
Requirements:
- Must be available to work a minimum two/three four-hour shifts per week on our news desk, covering the news that breaks during that time.
- Outside of set schedule, flexibility to cover major events/stories as needed is encouraged
- Must have experience publishing using networks like WordPress, and be able to self-edit/publish
- Prior writing experience ranging from quick news articles to longer columns
- 12 articles per month (3 per week in a 4-week month)
- Must be able to receive payment via Paypal
Preferred:
- A profound understanding of sports and the annual video games that accompany them
- A strong command of the English language with a passion for journalism
- A drive to produce quality original content on a consistent basis
- The ability to work together with other writers and editors to ensure that articles always look their best while meeting deadlines
- A strong social media presence

FEATURE WRITER:
On top of the news, our readers love a great story. As a feature writer with SGO you will be responsible for researching, interviewing, and producing long-form stories for the SGO community.
Requirements:
- Ability to produce a minimum of one long-form article or series per month.
- Ability to generate interesting topics to bring in an audience
- Must have experience publishing using networks like WordPress, and be able to self-edit/publish
- Prior writing experience
- Must be able to receive payment via Paypal
Preferred:
- A profound understanding of sports and the annual video games that accompany them
- A strong command of the English language with a passion for journalism
- A drive to produce quality original content on a consistent basis
- The ability to work together with other writers and editors to ensure that articles always look their best while meeting deadlines
- A strong social media presence

GUIDE WRITER
Our guides and tips are the biggest aspects of SGO. We are looking to add individuals who can provide expert help to players for the following genres:
- NHL
- MLB
- FIFA/PES
Requirements:
- Ability to produce highly-detailed guides on your game ranging from deep walkthroughs to simple tips and tricks
- Must have experience publishing using networks like WordPress, and be able to self-edit/publish
- Prior writing experience a plus
- Must be able to receive payment via Paypal
Preferred:
- A profound understanding of sports and the annual video games that accompany them
- A strong command of the English language with a passion for journalism
- A drive to produce quality original content on a consistent basis
- The ability to work together with other writers and editors to ensure that articles always look their best while meeting deadlines
- A strong social media presence
VIDEO CONTENT CREATOR:
In addition to news writers, SGO is looking to add Content Creators for it’s Youtube presence as we grow out the SGO Network.
Requirements:
- Must be knowledgable of the sports gaming market and community
- Ability to create 2-3 videos per month.
- Video editing ability in preferred software.
- Ability to create compelling ideas to bring in an audience
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues
- Well versed in multiple sports and games (unless you are brought on as an expert in one)
- Must be able to receive payment via Paypal.
- After Effects and video graphic experience a plus.

COMMUNITY MANAGER:
Our community manager will be the face of Sports Gamers Online. This individual will help SGO continue to grow and interact with the SGO Community. Due to the nature of the position, the CM will receive a base pay that will grow as the company continues to grow.
It’s best suited for someone looking at breaking into the Community Management/Marketing field.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all SGO social media accounts
- Grow the SGO Subreddit
- Interact with SGO community
- Develop creative ideas to involve the SGO community, increase the SGO audience and grow the SGON.
- Expand the SGO Insider (Patreon) program
