EA Sports’ newest announcement will have NHL® 23 fans ready to hit the ice. Cross-platform matchmaking is here to usher in a new and exciting gameplay experience. That’s right cross-platform is no longer a myth. NHL® 23 introduces cross-platform gaming. Cross-check across consoles and enjoy reduced wait times in Hockey Ultimate Team and World of Chel.
Cross-Platform Matchmaking
Starting today November 17th cross-platform will roll out in Ultimate Team, and World of Chel. However, this is just the beginning, as NHL® 23 boasts a complete list of cross-platform modes including fan favorites like, “Ones eliminator, HUT rush, Clubs 6v6,” and more. Check out the cross-platform matchmaking schedule below.
For many gamers, cross-platform seems like a dream from long ago, but next-generation console developers are making it happen. NHL® 23 Introduces Cross Platform Gaming and now PS4 and Xbox One players can play against each other while PS5 and Xbox X|S players will be able to play against each other. While cross-general console gameplay is not perfect it is certainly a step in the right direction.
Playing with your friends is great, but playing with friends on a completely different console is a hat trick. EA Sports steps up to the puck and charges ahead of the challenges with its newest iteration in cross-platform design. But truth be told EA has pulled this off once before with its FIFA series in FIFA 22. EA’s experience in cross-platform design is clear and vetted at this point. Even with the limitation in cross-console play fans were promised cross-platform before NHL® 23s’ launch on October 14th and EA delivered.
