I feel like in my last break down Players for Teams on a Low Budget I missed some good players that deserved to be included but didn’t make the cut at the time. Here are a few more players at each position that are a great value.
Gold Point Guards
Kyrie Irving: 4,000-5,500 MT
Overall: 86
Great handles and can create at will off the dribble. Lackluster defense and can be scored on fairly easily.
Rajon Rondo: 4,000-5,000 MT
Overall: 87
Best passer in the game, 99’s in all three passing attributes. Great defender who will get steals and a handful of rebounds.
Deron Williams: 2,000-3,000 MT
Overall: 84
The man can run an offense and has a very well rounded scoring game. Defensively has good strength and size for the position
Kyle Lowry: 2,500-3,500 MT
Overall: 85
Shooter and finisher with pick and roll skills. Pit bull on defense.
Tony Parker: 4,00-5,000 MT
Overall: 88
Great in the pick and roll, finishing and mid-range game.
Gold Shooting Guards
Lance Stephenson: 2,500-4,000 MT
Overall: 84
Good defender with a well-rounded but unpolished offensive game.
Joe Johnson: 2,000-3,000 MT
Overall: 82
Strong SG that can post up and shoot from deep. Slow on defense but has great size and strength.
Demar Derozan: 4,000-5,000 MT
Overall: 85
Phenomenal athlete but shaky yet usable shooting. Don’t settle for jumpers just get to the cup.
Gold Small Forwards
George Gervin: ’85-’86: 3,000-5,000 MT
Overall: 81
Limited shooting from mid and three range but excellent finisher around the rim.
Andre Iguodala: 3,000-4,000 MT
Overall: 82
At this point in his career he is like a point forward three and D wing. Still good athlete and can finish in transition.
Paul Pierce: 2,000-3,000 MT
Overall: 81
Can still take people off the dribble with good handles and passing ability. Slow as a brick on defense.
Gold Power Forwards
Kevin Mchale: ’85-’86: 6,000-7,500 MT
Overall: 89
Stay low to the ground in the low block and use a flurry of up-fakes. Defensively he is a good not great shot blocker.
Zach Randolph: 2,000-3,000 MT
Overall: 84
Low block beast who can hit the 15-18 foot jumper. Bit of a liability defensively.
Paul Millsap: 2,000-3,000 MT
Overall: 85
Hits more threes than he should and has a well rounded offensive game. Defensively he is too undersized to make a real impact but he will get a couple steals.
Gold Centers
Joakim Noah: 3,500-5,500 MT
Overall: 87
Offensively just look for put backs and 15 foot or less jumpers when absolutely wide open. Defensively a beast who hauls boards and protects the paint.
Marc Gasol: 3,000-4,000 MT
Overall: 85
Good not great on the low block and midrange. Defensively an excellent rim protector but his rebounding leaves something to be desired.
