The 2022 MLB season has been one of the craziest in history. From Aaron Judge hitting 62 HRs to the Phillies making a Cinderella run to the World Series, this year had something for every fan to enjoy. And to think we were so close to not getting a season at all due to the lockout. Thankfully though, we all got to witness a season unlike any other.
MLB The Show 22 Finest of the Franchise Featured Program
To celebrate the year that was 2022, MLB The Show 22 has introduced this year’s Finest cards. The new Finest of the Franchise Featured Program introduced the 2022 Finest series cards into the game. The Finest series is an annual tradition in Diamond Dynasty where superpowered cards are put in the game for the players that performed the best throughout the year.
The Finest of the Franchise Featured Program will run until the end of November. This program includes 30 bosses, one for each MLB team. These 99 OVR cards are immediately among the best in the game. Players will be able to earn 18 of the 30 bosses, 3 from each MLB division.
2022 Finest Collection
As players earn their bosses from the Finest of the Franchise Featured Program, they will also be able to make progress in the new 2022 Finest Collection. This collection includes four more 99 OVR 2022 Finest cards. The rewards for this collection are:
- 15 cards: Twins CF Byron Buxton
- 20 cards: Mets SP Max Scherzer
- 25 cards: Mets CP Edwin Diaz
- 30 cards: Cardinals 1B Paul Goldschmidt]
Finest of the Franchise Event
As with every Featured Program, a new event has arrived alongside it. The new Finest of the Franchise event will have players competing in 3-inning games on All-Star difficulty. This event restricts lineups to only the Finest series (Retro, Classic, and 2022), Postseason (2022 and Classics), and Live Series cards. Like the collection, there are four more 99 OVR 2022 Finest cards to be earned in the event. The rewards for the event are:
- 15 wins: White Sox 1B Jose Abreu
- 20 wins: Orioles RP Felix Bautista
- 25 wins: Braves CF Michael Harris II
- 30 wins: Mets SP Jacob deGrom
Chase Pack Set 5
The new Chase Pack Set 5 is now available in The Show Shop. The newest player in the pack is 99 OVR 2022 Finest Corbin Burnes. This pack guarantees a gold or better player item.
