8 Things You Need to Know About Gran Turismo Sport

Gran Turismo Sport

The launch of Gran Turismo Sport is just around the corner on October 17, and Sony decided to give out some information about the new game. Here you can find a round up of a part of the new features.

GTS And The New Campaign Mode

Campaign Mode will give you the chance to improve your driving skills across four different categories and tutorial videos: Driving School (to practice your skill level), Mission Challenge (to learn how to overcome difficult racing situation), Circuit Experience (to learn how to drive the hardest sections of the greatest tracks), and Racing Etiquettes (to learn flags, signals, and safety car protocols).

As you increase your skills, you will be awarded with vehicles and in-game currency.

Stay Connected While Playing GTS Online

This year’s GTS will be the only video game with an online Championship endorsed by the world’s motoring governing body, the FIA. This means that the devs must take racing integrity very seriously for the FIA GT Championship.

In order to ensure fair racing for all, GT Sport will require an internet connection for most of the functionalities. This requirement ensures that progress, car availability, and driver ratings are properly maintained. Moreover, you won’t necessarily need a PlayStation Plus subscription (although it will be needed for some functions).

GTS And Advanced Matchmaking

Matchmaking is becoming more and more important, and GT Sport can’t just fall behind on this aspect. The advanced matchmaking function of GTS will be based on three primary factors: Driver leve, more or less the XP drivers gain in racing, Sportmanship rating, to reward the cleaner drivers, and the Driver rating, that will go from E (at the very start) to A, but will be influenced by the Sportmanship rating.

GTS And Car Customization

The Car Settings within your Garage will allow you to change your tires, brake bias, suspension, and pretty much whatever you want. But not only, with Mileage Exchange, you can trade in-game miles you will earn for more customization options for your avatar or your vehicles.

Scapes Mode For Better Photos

The all-new scapes mode will allow for much more realistic photos with a true HDR workflow and physics-based technologies for rendering. GT Sports devs released a short, yet interesting clip on what you will be able to achieve:

GTS And Driving Helps

You will be able to choose between different level of aids. The high-level driving aids can help with everything from steering, to throttle control, and so on. The more experienced virtual drivers, however, can set all this to off to drive a car in a more realistic, yet difficult, fashion.

GTS And PlayStation VR

If you really want driving going to the next level, Check out Gran Turismo Sport in VR, featured within the Arcade Mode. There you will be able to go head to head (1:1) against another AI opponent in over 135 cars on 27 new and classic tracks.

GTS And HDR

HDR not only means better graphics and visuals, but also a better color reproduction. The devs have released a short clip to showcase some of the differences:
