The 2023 MLB All-Star game has come and gone. This year’s Midsummer Classic sure left its mark, both on the league and on MLB The Show 23. This week, tons of new content was added to the game based on the MLB Home Run Derby and All-Star Game. Also, for the first time, new content based on this week’s MLB Draft has been added.
All-Star Game and MLB Draft Program Added to MLB The Show 23
All-Star Week Program
The newest program in MLB The Show 23 has content from all parts of this busy week. The program features missions, moments, and a new conquest map. The rewards for this new program include several The Show packs and new equipment. The end of the program is where it really gets interesting. There is a choice pack that let’s players choose one of the 2023 MLB Draft, MLB All-Star Game, and Home Run Derby choice packs. The final piece of the program is a similar choice pack, but it let’s users choose a guaranteed rare round pull from one of these packs. This card will not be sellable. This seems like an attempt by SDS to address player concerns that rewards from previous programs were not good enough, and that too many cards were locked behind packs.
Along with these packs and equipment, the new program rewards tons of new player cards. These rewards are:
- 40th Overall Pick Yohandy Morales, 3B Washington Nationals (96 OVR)
- 32nd Overall Pick Colin Houck, SS New York Mets (96 OVR)
- 27th Overall Pick Aidan Miller, 3B Philadelphia Phillies (97 OVR)
- 2023 All-Star Series Kodai Senga, SP New York Mets (97 OVR)
- 2023 All-Star Series Bryce Elder, SP Atlanta Braves (97 OVR)
- 2023 All-Star Series George Kirby, SP Seattle Mariners (97 OVR)
- 2023 All-Star Series Austin Hays, LF Baltimore Orioles (97 OVR)
- 2023 All-Star Series Framber Valdez, SP Houston Astros (97 OVR)
- 2023 All-Star Series Ozzie Albies, 2B Atlanta Braves (97 OVR)
- 2023 All-Star Series Jorge Soler, RF Miami Marlins (97 OVR)
- 2023 All-Star Series David Bednar, CP Pittsburgh Pirates (97 OVR)

All-Star Game Packs
The new packs in the All-Star Week Program are also available in The Show Shop. One new thing with these packs is that each pack offers a discounted price for the first pack purchase. This means players can get one of the All-Star Game and Home Run Derby packs for 15,000 stubs each, and one of the MLB Draft packs for only 10,000 stubs. These prices are discounted from the usual 50,000 stub price for these type of choice packs.
MLB Draft
For the first time ever, players that were selected in this week’s MLB Draft were immediately added to MLB The Show 23. On top of this content being added to Diamond Dynasty, these players have also been added to the latest Live Roster update. This means players can now play with the latest draft picks in Franchise mode and other offline modes. These players are located in the Free Agent pool, so you can add these players to any team of your choosing.
This is a great addition that is pretty unique to MLB. In other leagues like the NBA and NFL, their drafts take place after the season concludes. This means players usually have to wait until the next entry for games like NBA 2K and Madden NFL to come out to play with official versions of their favorite draft picks. However, since MLB does its draft during the season, this allows MLB The Show to capitalize on the hype of the MLB Draft to draw in players.
Battle Royale 5
The fifth Battle Royale Program has been added to MLB The Show 23. By going 12-0 or earning 100 points in the program, players can earn the following new rewards:
- Jin Kim Series Hank Thompson (99 OVR)
- Jin Kim Series Rube Foster (99 OVR)
- 2023 All-Star Series Bo Bichette (99 OVR)
