MLB The Show 22

The first month of the MLB season has come to an end, and MLB The Show 22 has handed out their first set of Monthly Awards cards in the new content added to the game today. The April Monthly Awards Program, along with new missions for the Spring Cleanup Featured Program, and a new Headliner and event have entered the game.

April Monthly Awards Program

This new set of cards is highlighted by the April Lightning Player Anthony Rizzo and April Lightning Legend Andre Dawson. In April 2022, Rizzo led all of MLB with 9 HRs, including three in a career night on April 26th. This Player of the Month card comes in at a 92 overall, with 100+ power against both lefty and right-handed pitchers.

Andrew Dawson is the first Legendary Lightning player in MLB The Show. His 91 overall card in the April Monthly Awards Program represents his April 1986 performance. Dawson led the NL that month with 6 HRs, and was second in the league in SLG and OPS. This card can play anywhere in the outfield with impressive speed, fielding, and hitting attributes across the board.

The April Month Awards program features three 90 overall cards:

The program also has six 88 overall cards:

Finally, the program introduces three new Topps Now 86 overall cards

To earn these cards, players will have to progress through all three stages of the April Monthly Awards Program. This will require collecting all the Topps Now and April Monthly Awards cards, as well as completing moments and parallel XP missions.

April Monthly Awards Event

A new event has been added to the game to celebrate the April Monthly Awards cards. The April Monthly Awards event requires players to use Monthly Awards, Topps Now, and Live Series cards in 3-inning games. 15 wins in the program rewards Madison Bumgarner’s April 2017 Topps Now card, while 20 wins will earn the player Trevor Story’s 2019 Topps Now card.

Several new missions have been added to help players earn progress towards the Spring Cleanup Featured Program.
