MLB The Show 21 Won’t Include Year Over Year Saves

MLB Show 21 Release

San Diego Studios just put an end to some of the biggest questions surrounding MLB The Show 21.

Cross-platform play will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. With the ability to play all console generations.

This has to get gamers excited as this was on the forefront of many people’s minds looking to purchase their copy of The Show. Of course this will be the first year that Xbox sports gamers will be blessed with a AAA baseball title since MLB 2K13 on the Xbox 360.

Those who buy the Collector’s Edition of The Show will have access to both current and next-gen versions of the game. Players who buy a physical copy will receive a current-gen disc with a next-gen entitlement, while digital purchasers will just receive entitlements for both generations.

For anyone planning to buy the standard edition of MLB The Show 21 on current-gen, just know that there will be no upgrade offered when making the leap to an Xbox X/S or PS5.

Another nugget shared is that MLB The Show 21 will have a cross-save feature but more details on that will be made available closer to launch. There will be no year-to-year saves, however, but it has not been ruled out for future titles.

MLB The Show 21 will be launching on April 20, 2021 for the customary $60 on PS4 and Xbox One, and $70 on next-gen consoles. There is currently no pricing on the Collector’s Edition of the game, but more information should be coming shortly.
