MLB The Show 22 Adds Fields of Dreams Program

MLB The Show 22

This Thursday, MLB will hold its second annual Field of Dreams game. The game will be held at a field constructed next to where the famous film of the same name was shot. Last year’s game was a thriller that saw the Chicago White Sox walk it off against the New York Yankees. Hopefully, this year’s game will be just as exciting when the Chicago Cubs face off against division rival the Cincinnati Reds. To celebrate the occasion, MLB The Show 22 has created the Field of Dreams Featured Program. The program has nine bosses available for players to earn throughout the program. However, they won’t have long as the program only lasts 10 days. Check out the official details below.

These nine bosses are divided into four choice packs. The first includes three Flashbacks:

The next pack has three of the most requested Future Stars cards:

The third choice pack features three legends to choose from:

The fourth choice pack features all 9 bosses, giving players a chance pick another boss from one of the three groups.

Field of Dreams Event

To go along with this new Featured Program, there is a new Field of Dreams Event in MLB The Show 22. This event is locked at the Field of Dreams stadium, with any players being allowed in 3-inning games at All-Star difficulty. Grinding this event will earn players Classic Finest Kris Bryant (97 OVR) and Future Stars Nick Lodolo (97 OVR).

Gameplay Working as Intended

During today’s content reveal livestream, the team at San Diego Studio again asserted that they feel the gameplay in MLB The Show 22 is not in need of fixing, despite what the community says. Since the launch of MLB The Show 22, fans have felt like the hitting in the game is not working properly. Fans point to the high number of foul balls and the amount of well hit lineouts and flyouts as evidence that the game’s hitting engine needs to be updated.

Despite this public feedback on sites like Twitter and Reddit, Ramone Russell said on today’s stream, “We spend a lot of time watching how you all play the game offline and online, and the reason why you haven’t seen any hitting changes is because the hitting stats look incredibly good to us. Everything is functioning as we intended. That does not mean things are perfect. We are always striving to make things better.”

Battle Royale Program

The 6th Battle Royale Program has been released for MLB The Show 22 with big new rewards. Earning 90 program points will earn players 98 OVR Prime Kevin Youkilis. Going 12-0 or earning 100 program points will earn the player a BR Flawless Choice pack, with two new 99 OVR cards: Takashi Mike Mussina and Future Stars Anthony Volpe.

Headliner Pack

The 36th Headliner Set has been added to The Show Shop. The newest Headliner is Retro Finest Grady Sizemore. This card is based off Sizemore’s 2007 season, where he was an All-Star with 24 HRs with 78 RBIs on a .277/.390/.462 slash line.
