We’re in the endgame now folks. With the release of this week’s Legends of the Franchise Featured Program, MLB The Show 22 is starting to see the cards that will ultimately carry it through the remainder of its life cycle. On top of this new Featured Program, there is also a new event, new packs, and a new player program.

Legends of the Franchise Featured Program

The theme of the franchise-based Featured Programs continues here with the new Legends of the Franchise Featured Program. Again, all 30 teams have a player representing them in the program. Players will be able to earn 18 of the 30 cards as they get three from each division choice pack. All 30 of these cards are 99 OVR. The stats on these cards have been absolutely juiced, with players like Ozzie Smith, Ricky Henderson, Tony Gwynn, and Jorge Posada getting the best versions we have ever seen in MLB The Show.

This Featured Program will last three weeks, similar to other Franchise Featured Programs this year. Players will have a lot to grind in those three weeks, as they will need to earn 400,000 XP to get all their 18 bosses from the program. The program goes all the way to 1,000,000 XP, with extra rewards including All-Stars of the Franchise packs, Ballin’ Out of Control packs, and much more.

Legends of the Franchise Event

The new Featured Program also brings with it a new event. This event has more lineup restrictions than some of the previous ones, as players can only use Legends in this event. 15 wins in the event earns you 99 OVR Retro Finest Bert Blyleven and 20 wins gets you 99 OVR Signature David Justice.

Roster Update

There was another roster attributes update today. This was a big update as six players made the jump to Diamond. These six players are:

  • Diamondbacks SP Zac Gallen
  • Mets SS Francisco Lindor
  • Cardinals 2B Tommy Edman
  • Phillies C J.T. Realmuto
  • Padres SP Yu Darvish
  • Dodgers SP Julio Urias

While these players moved up, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Hunter Renfroe, Pete Alonso, and Joe Musgrove all lost Diamond status this week following ratings downgrades.

New Collections

Two new big collections have been added for players to work towards. The first one is a Topps Now collection. By collecting 105 Topps Now cards, players will earn a 99 OVR Topps Now Christian Yelich for their squad.

The other collection is the third Legends and Flashback Collection. The reward for the collection this time is 99 OVR Retro Finest Jimmy Rollins. This card is based on Rollins’s 2007 season, where he played in all 162 games, hit a career-high 30 HRs with 94 RBIs, and was named NL MVP.

Topps Now

The next set of Topps Now moments have been added to the September Monthly Awards Program. Six new moments are available for players to complete and earn 95 OVR Topps Now cards of:

  • Rockies CF Randal Grichuk
  • Astros SP Hunter Brown\
  • Guardians RF Oscar Gonzalez

Collecting these three cards, along with the other Topps Now cards from the September Monthly Awards Program will earn you 97 OVR Yoan Moncada.

Roberto Clemente Program

2022 marks 50 years since Roberto Clemente made his MLB debut. To honor Clemente, the new Roberto Clemente Program has been added into MLB The Show 22. This program includes moments from Clemente’s career, exchanges, and PXP missions. Completing this program will earn players tons of packs and a 99 OVR Retro Finest Roberto Clemente.

New Packs

The next version of the Home Run Derby X pack is now available in The Show Shop. This version of the pack now includes 98 OVR versions of the same four players who participated in the event. This new pack is completely free.

Headliner Set 46 is also now available in The Show Shop. The newest Headliner is 99 OVR Signature Jim Rice.
