As we move past the 4th of July holiday and into the dog days of summer, the baseball season is in full swing. Over the past month, several players stood out with tremendous performances night after night. MLB The Show 22 celebrates those players that performed best with the June Monthly Awards Program. This program introduces several new cards that immediately join the ranks of some of the best in MLB The Show, including the new June Lightning Yordan Alvarez, which has some of the most impressive hitting stats we have seen so far this year.

June Month Awards Program

This month’s Lightning Player of the Month card goes to Astros LF Yordan Alvarez. Alvarez led MLB during the month of June in BA (.418), RBI (28), and WAR (2.1). His new 97 OVR card has very impressive stats, including 115 contact and 125 power against right-handed pitchers. He also has 95 plate discipline, 71 arm strength, 87 arm accuracy, and 43 speed. He may not be the fastest outfielder, but his arm and hitting abilities more than make up for it. This Alvarez card is sure to be putting fear into the hearts of pitchers across The Show.

MLB The Show 22 Lightning Legends

This month’s program also has a new Lightning Legend player. This month it is White Sox SP Chris Sale. This 96 OVR card honors Sale’s June 2015 performance where he had 75 strikeouts, a 1.83 ERA, and 2.3 WAR. Sale’s throwback has 100+ in stamina, H/9, and K/9, along with 97 velocity and 99 break.

The June Monthly Awards Program also introduces 6 93 OVR cards featuring:

  • Reds 3B Brandon Drury
  • Dodgers RP Daniel Hudson
  • Marlins 3B Jon Berti
  • Orioles CP Jorge Lopez
  • Mets SP Taijuan Walker
  • Blue Jays RF Teoscar Hernandez

Players will be able to earn three of these cards in stage 2 and the other three in stage 3 of the June Monthly Awards Program.

The new program also introduces 3 95 OVR players featuring:

  • Pirates CF Bryan Reynolds
  • Rangers SP Jon Gray
  • Phillies LF Kyle Schwarber

Players will be able to earn two of these cards in stage 2 and the other one in stage 3. Note that all cards earned in stage 3 of the June Monthly Awards Program are not sellable in the marketplace.

Sizzling Summer Showdown

As a part of the Sizzling Summer Program, MLB The Show has its newest showdown. This is a mini showdown that sees players use Takashi Okazaki hitters to take on Rollie Ringers, who is one of the bosses in the Sizzling Summer Program. Completing this showdown will earn players 15,000 XP towards the Sizzling Summer Program.

Headliner Packs

The 28th Headliner Set is now available for purchase in The Show Shop. The new headliner is 96 OVR Future Stars Nolan Gorman.

It seems that San Diego Studios has accidentally leaked who will be the 29th Headliner as well in their announcement for today’s update. In the announcement, there is a photo of 96 OVR Awards Xander Bogaerts, a card that is not currently in the game.

I am making $92 an hour working from home. i was greatly surprised at the same time as my neighbour advised me she changed into averaging $ninety five however I see the way it works now. I experience mass freedom now that I’m my non-public boss.
