MLB The Show 23 Legend Trailer Reveals McGwire And More!

MLB The Show 23

We are now just a few days away from the early access release of MLB The Show 23. The Feature Premieres are almost all wrapped up. The ratings for players have been revealed. The only annual tradition left was the legends trailer. This is the trailer that releases shortly before launch to show off new legends coming to the game. The trailer has now been released showing off one of the most impressive classes of new legends in recent memory.

MLB The Show 23 Legend Trailer

MLB The Show 23 officially released this year’s legends trailer. However, it seems to have been unofficially released already. Last week, the trailer started circulating online after it was apparently aired early on Comedy Central during reruns of The Office. One can only imagine what Michael Scott would say about this situation. Screenshots were also posted online showing some new legends after someone got their hands on a copy early and streamed it on YouTube. This person allegedly did not realize they had the game early.

Anyways, the trailer itself was short and featured loads of new legends. It started off showing the Negro League legends coming to the game in Storylines. We then got the first big reveal of the trailer with legendary Mets 3B David Wright. Fans have asked for Wright to be added to the game for a while now. Since MLB The Show 23 places an emphasis on captains in Diamond Dynasty, it makes sense for this to be the year Wright comes to the game.

The trailer continued by showing off legends that had already been announced to be coming to the game. This included Jake Peavy, Carlos Pena, Matt Cain, and Derek Jeter. The biggest reveal came just before the trailer ended, as we get a look at the two players who helped save baseball in the summer of 1998. That’s right, it looks like Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa are both coming to MLB The Show 23.

This is one of the biggest announcements for new players coming to MLB The Show in a while. I would say this even surpasses the addition of Derek Jeter, and I’m a Yankees fan. Though there have been some players with PED accusations included in the game in the past, none of the faces of the PED era like McGwire and Sosa have been included up to this point. Their addition hopefully opens the door to more steroid-era players to be included in the future.
