We are now in March, which means we will be getting MLB The Show 23 this month. Overall, Fan feedback on the new features and additions has been mostly positive so far. That is until today, when SDS held the Road to the Show and Face Scan Feature Premiere live stream. The small number of additions to one of MLB The Show’s most played modes seems to upset some fans.

Road to the Show

This live stream was noticeably shorter than the previous ones. The stream started off with showing off the new bat sounds that will be in MLB The Show 23. It was announced that the bat sounds that fans heard in the Tech Test a couple of weeks ago were not the final ones that will be in the game. So a couple of minutes were spent showing off those new bat sounds.

Finding the Right Competitive eSports FPS Game For You

Once the stream got around to Road to the Show, the first thing mentioned was the new Ballplayer UI. The new UI features the same sections as the previous one did with the player’s skill set, perks, equipment, and appearance. The new UI has all of these screens in one area instead of having to go to multiple screens to make changes.

The next topic was what the team called Dynamic Challenges 2.0. The UI for the dynamic challenges that pop up in the game has been changed. Also, there will no longer be the big screen wipe whenever a challenge is either completed or failed. The challenges themselves, however, don’t seem to have changed much. The challenges are shown on screen, and the rewards for completing them seem to be precisely the same as the ones we have seen in previous games. So it seems like the challenges haven’t changed, but how they are presented to you has.

On-field training is returning to Road to the Show. This will replace the mini-games players could play in their downtime to earn extra progression. Now, it will be like how it was in older MLB The Show games, where you do actual baseball drills. How well you perform in these drills will determine your progression.

Finally, there will be a few presentation updates to Road to the Show. There will be new podcast segments featuring MLB Network personalities like Robert Flores, Carlos Pena, and Jake Peavy. Pena and Peavy were also revealed as new legends in Diamond Dynasty. Also, when your player is drafted, you will now see the reveal animation that you see for pulling a diamond card in Diamond Dynasty.

Face Scan

The main thing that was advertised in this live stream was the new Face Scan feature. This will be available using the MLB The Show 23 Companion App once it releases. With this app, players can take a photo of themselves and upload it to their MLB The Show profile. This picture will be used to create your ballplayer in MLB The Show 23. This will make it easier for players to put themselves into the game.

Fan Reaction

Overall, fans seemed to be pretty upset by the lack of new features coming to Road to the Show this year. With most of the new features being updated UI and the return of a feature from previous games in on field training, players felt like the mode won’t have anything new to offer players this year. Road to the Show used to be the main selling point of this series. The fact that this year’s version seems to be mostly untouched has really upset many offline users.

Excellent work, Mike. I admire your effort because I currently generate more than $36,000 each month from just one simple online business! I am aware that you may start dn-50 earning a solid life online with as little as $29,000 and these are just basic internet operations tasks.
