NBA 2K20 Simulates the 2019-20 NBA Season

Opening night and opening week of the NBA is finally here. And with the start of a new year, the NBA 2K20 has run a simulation of the 2019-20 NBA season to see how things may play out.

2019-20 NBA Season Simulation

The NBA 2K20 season simulation will be one that LA fans will probably be happy with, with one group of fans being happier than the other. That’s because the simulation had the Clippers and Lakers squaring off in the Western Conference Finals, and the Lakers overcame a 3-0 deficit to win the series in seven games. In the East, the Milwaukee Bucks won the Eastern Conference championship and a spot in the NBA Finals.

And in the NBA Finals, the Lakers swept the Bucks to win their first championship in ten seasons. LeBron James not only won his fourth NBA title, but also took home the NBA Finals MVP in a resurgent 2019-20 season. As for some of the other awards, let’s take a look at who NBA 2K20 has winning those:

NBA 2K20 had Zion Williamson finish the season averaging 19.8 PPG, 8.5 RPG and 2.6 APG. The game also had Giannis Antetokounmpo win his second consecutive NBA MVP award. As for some of the statistical leaders, here’s what NBA 2K20 had:

There were some interesting takeways from NBA 2K20‘s season simulation. James Harden averaged 30.4 PPG while Russell Westbrook averaged 23.9 PPG with the Rockets in their first season back together. Meanwhile, the Warriors finished the season with a 50-32 after losing Klay Thompson to a season-ending injury and Kevin Durant to the Brooklyn Nets.

Speaking of Durant, the 2K20 team ran two separate simulations for the Nets, one with Durant and one without him. As you may or may not now, Durant sustained a season-ending injury last season in the NBA Finals and will not play this year. With Durant, the Nets finished with a strong 56-26 record. Without him, the Nets finished with a 41-41 record.
