We’re on the eve of NBA 2K21‘s seventh MyTeam Season: “Full Throttle.” Season 7 is set to be the shortest MyTeam season yet at only four weeks. This season will allow players to reach level 40 at their own pace and features new releases, challenges, rewards, and more. Let’s take a look at what you can expect in the upcoming season.
Starting off Season 7
Players can start the season off with a Ruby Evo Derrick Rose as the Level 1 reward. Additionally, 150,000 XP will be available on Day 1. More XP will be released throughout the season as participants race to Level 40 to claim the Season 7 reward: Dark Matter Vince Carter.
Dark Matter Reward Cards
On top of Vinsanity, there are plenty of other Dark Matter cards to earn journeying through Season 7. In Limited, the late Elgin Baylor can be picked up after collecting four rings (one per weekend). In Unlimited, “Grandmama” Larry Johnson can be had with a 12-0 record in the Galaxy Opal tier. Players should keep an eye out for Sidney Moncrief in Ascension and Bailey Howell in Triple Threat Online. As well as, Larry Kenon in the Vault and Jerry Lucas after racking up 1,500 wins in Single Player Triple Threat. Louie Dampier resides at The Exchange and a Dark Matter Bill Walton will see a 1,000 card limited release in the Dark Matter Reward Market.
Token Market
Starting May 8, the Token Market will open to commemorate the newest Basketball Hall of Fame class. This will include exclusive packs, Hall of Fame badges, and “a few other surprises.” All MyTeam players will receive a Hall of Fame badge, everyday, for eight days, in memory of Mamba.
Spotlight Sim
Also, Spotlight Sim is back in Season 7. The returning mode includes Lifetime Agendas tied to the completion of upcoming challenges. These can be completed for the fire basketball (for the first time on next-gen) and the brand-new holographic ball.
New Base Set
Next, Season 7 launches with a new base set, Current Series 3. The new set showcases the first ever Galaxy Opal Steph Curry and LeBron James. Both are rated as league-leading Galaxy Opals.
Season 7 Signature Challenge & Locker Code
A brand new signature challenge is coming this season, straight from the desk of T-Mac. This season’s challenge, players must match McGrady’s ’04 scoring flurry against the San Antonio Spurs. 13 points in 33 seconds. Matching his stat line and securing a dub unlocks Diamond shoe and another Hall of Fame badge. For those in need of a Tracy McGrady card, enter “T-MAC-13-IN-33” for a Free Agent version.
