NBA 2K21 Patch Update 2 Details

The second patch update for NBA 2K21 went live on consoles this morning. Twitter user PowerGotNow tweeted about the update this morning at around 5 AM EST, and members of the NBA 2K subreddit quickly confirmed the patch sizes. NBA 2K21 Patch Update 2 is around 12 GB on Xbox One and 22 GB on PlayStation 4.

Why is the PlayStation 4 cursed to such large update sizes? Only Sony knows.

In past NBA 2K games, a new patch meant it was time to explore. A lack of thorough patch notes meant it was up to the community to suss out even minor changes. However, 2K Games seems committed to better transparency around patch notes. When Patch Update 1 dropped a few weeks ago, 2K promised a Courtside Report for each patch. Sure enough, NBA 2K21’s Courtside Report dropped the patch notes only a few hours after the patch rolled out. I’ve got a background in competitive Super Smash Bros., where Nintendo has only recently learned what Online is. Seeing a game company produce real, tangible patch notes is always a plus for me.

Today’s patch makes a handful of balance changes to dribbling. The NBA 2K21 team continues to focus on finding and fixing bugs, as well. They also made Damian Lillard look better. If you’re gonna keep improving how your players look, it makes sense to focus on your cover athlete. You can find the full patch notes below.
