The NBA is getting a next-gen arcade game, and it’s coming in May.
NBA Playgrounds will bring the gameplay style of NBA Jam and NBA Street into the current era of basketball. The game will feature every NBA team as well as both past and present players like former All-Star point guard Allen Iverson.
The game is being developed by Saber Interactive, a studio that has worked on big titles such as the Halo: Master Chief Collection as well as the upcoming Quake Champions on PC.
The game will have three primary modes at launch: single player, local multiplayer and an “Against The World” online mode, which sounds like a conquest mode. No other details regarding how each mode will work have been revealed.

NBA Playgrounds launches in May on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Switch, and will cost $20 on every system. The game will be available only via download.
