Criterion Could Be Working on The Next Need For Speed Game

According to a new job listing, Criterion Games seem to be working on the next Need For Speed game. The studio’s latest entry, Need For Speed Unbound, was a well-received return to the street racing culture. However, with this latest job listing, the next game in the NFS series is most likely well under development.

Criterion Games’ Job Listing

According to a job listing on Linkedin, Criterion Games are currently looking for a World Artist. From what the duties suggest in the post, the World Artist will be responsible for building the layout of the map and brainstorming environments and overall tone.

We are looking for an experienced World Artist to help us with our new and exciting endeavor to create an open world offering the player a fast, visceral, and authentic experience.

Since this posting is fairly new, Criterion might still be in the creative phase of development, so don’t expect any official info about this title for a while. However, knowing that the company is looking for new talent to help create a new open-world racing game is encouraging.

Need For Speed Unbound

Need For Speed Unbound is a breath of fresh air for the series. Last November, Criterion’s street racing game was well-received by SGO and critics alike. Here on Sports Gamers Online, we liked the cel-shaded art style and the call back to the street-racing culture.

Need For Speed Unbound is out now, and if you want to read our SGO review on the game, click here.
