The future of soccer simulation games has changed as we know it. After FIFA decided to terminate its working relationship with Electronic Arts, many speculated about the future of soccer games at EA. However, EA has announced EA SPORTS FC. The official name comes from a press release by EA.

EA SPORTS FC Coming Summer 2023

EA dubs it the Future of Interactive Football. In a statement by Cam Weber, Group GM of EA Sports and Racing, he thanked the fans of FIFA for their continuous support over the past 30 years. He went on to say that the next and last title under the FIFA license will be the most expansive one yet.

Exploring the Latest Frontier in Sports Video Games and eSports

EA SPORTS FC is slated for a July 2023 release. According to the press release, EA SPORTS FC will become the future of football from EA SPORTS. Alongside our 300+ license partners across the sport, we’re ready to take global football experiences to new heights, on behalf of all football fans around the world.

Fans of FIFA can expect a similar experience in EA SPORTS FC. The same great experiences, modes, leagues, tournaments, clubs, and athletes will be there. Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Pro Clubs, and VOLTA Football will all be there. EA’s licensing deals allow a portfolio of more than 19,000+ players, 700+ teams, 100+ stadiums, and 30 leagues. EA promises to continue to invest and continue the relationships they have fostered with La Liga, the Premier League, Bundesliga Serie A, and the MLS. Weber promises that there is more to come.

Weber stated that this is a new opportunity for EA. He stated, “This is much more than just a change of symbol – as EA SPORTS, we’re committed to ensuring EA SPORTS FC is a symbol of change.” He continued, “We’re dedicated to meaningfully reinvesting in the sport, and we’re excited to work with a large and increasing number of partners to expand to new authentic experiences that bring joy, inclusivity, and immersion to a global community of fans. I look forward to sharing more detail on these plans in the coming months.”

FIFA 2023 Still Coming

Weber stated the last FIFA will be the most expansive yet. He hopes to end the FIFA licensing deal on a high note. EA plans to deliver more features, game modes, World Cup content, clubs, leagues, competitions, and players than any FIFA title before.

As stated before, the title is slated for a summer 2023 release. Rest assured, SGO will deliver the goods as we know them.

Until then, let us know how you are feeling about the announcement of EA SPORTS FC.
