As 21 teams get ready to compete for the $1.2M prize in the NBA 2K League, the league today announced some major details regarding this year’s schedule. The league schedule for 2019 will start on April 2 with THE TIPOFF tournament, and will span 16 weeks. The NBA 2K League will feature three tournaments (THE TIPOFF, THE TURN, THE TICKET) and each team will play 16 games throughout the 12 weeks of the regular season. The top eight teams would then move on to the playoffs which start on July 24.

The tournaments, like last season, will have no effect on the regular season standings but would be used as a tiebreaker if needed. However, the winner of THE TICKET tournament is guaranteed a playoff spot just like last season, when Knicks Gaming won the tournament and went on to win the 2018 NBA 2K League Championship.

All regular season games will take place at the NBA 2K League Studio in Long Island City, N.Y. , and all games will be streamed on the league’s Twitch channel. Games during the regular season will take place on Wednesdays from 6-11 PM EST, Thursdays from 6-10 PM EST, and Fridays from 6-11 PM EST.

The NBA 2K League also announced that, in order to reach an international audience, the league will rebroadcast a “Game of the Day” in primetime to viewers in Europe. So for those who want to watch the games but don’t want to stay up until 3 or 4 AM in Europe, this is just for you.
