Konami has announced that two different eSports tournaments will be headed to eFootball PES 2020: e.Football.Pro and e.Football.Open.

Konami will once again incorporate eSports into PES, as they have announced a new eSports tournament to go along with a returning competition. And the competition should be good this year, as Konami stated that they will award about $2M USD combined between their two tournaments.

e.Football.Pro and e.Football.Open

e.Football.Pro will be returning to PES this year. e.Football.Pro will include only real world pro clubs, and will consist of 3-on-3 online play. Clubs for e.Football.Pro will be responsible for selecting their own players, and the player will be mostly made up of last year’s pro players plus those who participated in the recent PES LEAGUE Regional and World Finals.

The new eSports competition for PES will be e.Football.Open, which was formally known as the PES LEAGUE. e.Football.Open will be more geared towards regular and casual players, and the format will be 1-on-1 play. Players will select one club, and will compete against others who have picked the same squad.

In order to encourage players to play in e.Football.Open, there will be a new online Matchday mode in eFootball PES 2020, which players can access in order to play in the tournaments. There will also be three classes available to players participating in the Football.Open: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.

Konami also announced that they have once again partnered with the eSports company Esports Media Rights (EMR) in order to “support the larger scale of eFootball” and PES‘ two eSports tournaments this year.

eFootball PES 2020 will launch on September 10 for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and on PC. Be sure to keep checking out the SGO site for more FIFA and PES news.
