Skate. Going Early Access
The beloved franchise’s return was announced during Summer Game Fest 2020 to much fanfare. Aside from updates here and there, information regarding the new title has been relatively scarce. Skate had a playtest earlier in the year for consoles and PC. We also know the game is free to play. From what developers have been saying, however, the gameplay is community-driven.
What we Know so far
Full Circle’s newest skateboard title will continue to evolve in the new city of San Vansterdam, which Parry describes as the sister city to San Vanelona. The development team aims to create a Skate game that never ends. The team will actively support the game with new content releases, gameplay updates, and seasonal drops. In addition, Skate will be cross-platform and cross-progress on all consoles and PCs, with mobile still in the early stages of development. Full Circle calls this the no-barriers approach to game design, where everyone can play together.
It is unclear on which platforms the game will be available, but the desire for it to be cross-platform is a pleasant treat.
A while back, skate. gameplay leak showed that EA and Full Circle are trying to make due on their promise of freedom for the return of skate.
Let us know how you’re feeling about the eventual early access release of skate.
