New eSports Boxing Club Fighter and Commentator Announced

eSports Boxing Club: Everything We Know So Far

Over the past few weeks, Steel City Interactive has been releasing new details on its upcoming boxing game eSports Boxing Club. There have been a few new announcements from the eSports Boxing Club Twitter account. We’ve got two big ones to look at today. First, a new boxing champion entering the ESBC ring. Second, a veteran commentator helping call the action.

WBC Heavyweight Champion Punches In

Steel City Interactive announced this morning that another champ will be stepping into the ring in December. WBC interim Heavyweight Champion Alexander Povetkin is confirmed for ESBC.

Povetkin joins fellow belt holders Conor Benn, Terri Harper, and Andres Campos in a growing cast of boxing stars. Although we’re still waiting on a full roster reveal, Steel City Interactive has previously teased a 57 person roster. Through announcements on both ESBC and Steel City Interactive’s twitter accounts, we know the following boxers are also confirmed.

The alpha gameplay trailer released last week also confirms Arturo Gatti, Josh Warrington and Kid Galahad.

eSports Boxing Club Commentary Table

eSports Boxing Club also announced an addition to its commentary team: DAZN USA commentator Todd Grisham. Grisham was the in-studio host of ESPN’s Friday Night Fights until he left ESPN in 2016. He now reports on UFC and Glory kickboxing. Suffice to say, Grisham is a man who knows a fight when he sees one.

Grisham joins BT Sports’ Paul Dempsey and Sky Sports’ Johnny Nelson to fill out the commentary desk. With talent like this on the mic, and stats tracked by boxing alum CompuBoxeSports Boxing Club is well on its way towards the legitimacy its aiming for. That is, as long as the commentary isn’t phoned in.

eSports Boxing Club enters Early Access this December on Steam. ESBC will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime in first Quarter 2021. The Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5 release dates will be sometime in Quarter 4 2021.

We’re excited to share more details as they arrive, including an expanded roster list. Until then, be sure to stay in the conversation by registering at the official Sports Gamers Online Forums, and check out our Twitter and Facebook pages as well as our growing YouTube Channel!
