Joke Wins Madden Bowl, Takes Home $65,000

Madden-NFL-20

EA Sports’ Madden NFL Bowl has a new champion. Raidel “Joke” Brito won five of six games games to earn his first Madden Championship Series (MCS) title and $65,000. Joke took down some of the best players in the competitive Madden community (including two former MCS title winners) en route to the belt. Each of the 16 finalists were playing Madden NFL 20 for a share of $220,000 in prize money. Here’s a complete breakdown of the tournament, which was held remotely.

JOKE’S PATH TO VICTORY

One of the top MCS earners since the series was introduced, Joke was long overdue for a championship belt. He broke through in dominant fashion, winning all but one game and controlling the overwhelming majority of each contest. Here’s a look at Joke’s tournament.

OTHER NOTABLE TOURNAMENT HEADLINES

“iRUNyouPASSiWIN” – Joke’s infamous and hilarious gamertag isn’t just for laughs. He did not attempt a single pass for the entirety of the tournament. All four MCS belt winners in Madden 20 did not attempt any passes in any tournament games.

No Technical Issues – With the entire tournament being played and commentated remotely, many speculated that EA could have technical issues when broadcasting the Madden Bowl. However, the tournament was beautifully run and seamlessly displayed for thousands of viewers on ESPN2, Twitch and YouTube.
