Is your connected franchises season winding down? Are you preparing for the draft? Here are some Madden 15 Connected Franchise Tips to have a successful draft and find the hidden gems available in the fictional player pool.

The first thing you want to look for is production, if production is over 100 then the player tends to be either very quick or has potential to be a  superstar. Those player usually get snagged up very early in the draft and if you can find a player with production of (80+) in the later rounds, they’re worth a long hard look.

If two players are the exact same production rating, you’ll want to scout their intangibles and physical traits and go from there.

Intangibles are a useful scouting tool, especially when the player’s potential is an A or B. If the intangibles rating holds up, these players are  almost always guaranteed to be a good starter.

Having a successful draft always starts with scouting. In this years Madden it’s really tough with so many players available and so little SP to start. You REALLY need to monitor where to spend your scouting points.

Obviously, you need to start off by scouting ONLY the positions you need and only the players you can reasonably get. For example, if you are pick # 30, DO NOT scout the top 15 players. They will almost always be gone by the time your team is on the clock. You will have a pretty good idea where you will end up with in the draft, taking your record into account. You can also always come back to these guys later if you have SP left over and you finished scouting the players that you think are obtainable.   Naturally, you want your top draft picks to become hall of fame caliber players but that is not always a realistic outcome obviously. Key is to limit your risk and get a good gauge on the player you are targeting without having to dump a ton of SP into finding out what he is about.

By position, these are the attributes you will want to scout, with the first 1-3 attributes needing to be high enough (A-B) to continue scouting:

  • QB – [THP] / SAC, MAC, DAC, SPD
  • HB – [SPD, ACC, STR] / BCV, ELU, CAR, TRK
  • WR – [SPD, ACC] / CTH, CIT, RTE, RLS
  • TE – [SPD, ACC] / CTH, CIT, RTE, RLS
  • OL – [STR] / PBK, RBK, IBL
  • DE – [SPD, ACC, STR] / PMV, FMV, BSH
  • DT – [SPD, ACC, STR] / PMV, FMV, BSH
  • LB – [ZCV, SPD] / ACC, STR, BSH
  • CB – [SPD, ACC] / MCV, ZCV, PRS
  • FS – [SPD, ACC, ZCV] / MCV
  • SS – [SPD, ACC, ZCV] / STR, MCV, POW
  • K – [KPW] / KAC
  • P – [KPW] / KAC

Obviously I’ve discounted some somewhat important attributes (TAK, PRC, & PUR for all D) but that is due to the fact that it costs a lot of SP and doesn’t really differentiate the top talent from the bottom talent as I’ve found that nearly every player has roughly the same letter grade for those attributes. The other reason for ignoring these traits is because they are SO easy/cheap to upgrade. I’ll take a CB with A SPD/ACC, B MCV/ZCV, B PRS, & D PRC/TAK/PUR any day of the week. That guy will be a stud in my scheme in half a season. It all depends on what kind of scheme you are running and what you want to get out of the player you are drafting. Use your SP wisely and if you don’t like what you see when revealing the letter grade of a certain attribute, sometimes it is best to walk away from that player rather then spending more SP on him.
