Madden 15 Ulimate Team Week 15 TOTW Player Release

Week 14 team of the week cards were a massive surprise to me. A number of players I felt deserved a card didn’t get one. For example RB Le’Veon Bell of the Steelers who became only the 2nd RB in NFL History to have over 700 yards from the line of scrimmage in 3 consecutive games. The only other player to do that was Hall of Famer Walter Payton. Bell lead the NFL this week with 185 yards rushing, 2 TDs as well as 6 catches for 50 yards and 1 receiving TD. RB DeMarco Murray also had a massive game this week for the Cowboys on Thursday night football rushing for 179 yards rushing, 1 rushing TD and 9 catches for 59 yards. Shocking to me that even with Murray is leading the NFL in rushing with 1606 yards, which is 375 yard more than anyone else, and has not had a TOTW card yet this year. Another overlooked player is WR AJ Green. Green had 11 catches for 224 yards and 1 TD. Green has 65 more receiving yards than any other WR as well as tying Odell Beckham Jr. for the league lead in receptions with 11 in week 1. This all came in a 42 to 21 loss to the Steelers.

First let’s look at the new offensive cards.

WR Jarvis Wright (85 Overall) had an impactful game as the Vikings beat the Jets 30 to 24 in OT. Jarvis Wright has a total of 4 receptions for 123 yards and a TD in OT to win the game for the Vikings. Look at his MUT TOTW card, the only real stat that stands out to me is his CIT (Catch In Traffic) which is 94. There is nothing that stands out on this card that makes him better than any other mid 80s WR.

TE Mychal Rivera (85 Overall) had a massive game for the Raiders as they beat their bay rivals the 49ers. Rivera has 7 receptions on 7 targets for 109 yards and a TD. Rivera led the Raiders in receiving yards and tied for the team lead in receptions. Rivera TOTW card is a solid receiving TE card. Looking at the back of his card Rivera has solid speed at an 85 with good catching stats 80 CTH (Catch) and 90 CIT (Catch In Traffic). This card has solid blocking stats though which are around average for a TE.

RB Andre Williams (86 Overall) had a solid game for the Giants carrying the ball 24 times for 131 yards and a TD, he also had 3 catches for 16 yards. Honestly not sure why this guy got a card when 4 RBs have more yards than him and better receiving performances. The stats on the back of Williams’s card though aren’t that impressive. 88 speed means he is a power between the tackles RB and is unlikely to give you that home run chance. 91 CAR (Carrying) and 95 TRK (Trucking) means he could be good in short yardage situations. Williams only has 54 CAT (Catching) making him a pure power RB. Other than for the collection or being a Giants fan I can’t see why anyone would use this card.

WR T.Y Hilton (91 overall) is becoming a top WR in the NFL. This week he had a massive catch for the Colts with 32 seconds left to tie the game up at 24. In OT the Colts kicked the extra point to win the game by 1. Hilton has 10 catches for 150 yards and 2 TDs. When I first saw the back of Hilton’s TOTW card I went, “WOW”. Yes Hilton is a small WR at only 5ft 9, but 97 SPD (Speed) 96 CTH (Catch) 94 ELU (Elusiveness) 96 SPC (Spectacular Catch) 94 RTE (Route Running) and 92 CIT (Catch In Traffic) make him a top slot WR in my eyes. Being the elite for this weeks offensive collection you may want to wait for later in the week to buy him.

QB Cam Newton (94 Overall) got the team of the week collection card and when I first saw he had it I wasn’t sure why until I checked his stats for this week. Cam leaded the Panthers to a 41 – 10 win over the division rival Saints. Cam went 21 of 33 for 226 yards 3 TDs no INTs which by itself isn’t impressive, but Cam also backed that up with 12 rushes for 83 yards and a TD which put him as the 10th leading rusher in week 14. Now for all those that love fast QBs you will love this TOTW MUT Card. 92 SPD (Speed) 94 ACC (Acceleration) and 94 AGI (Agility) make this a great QB for the people that like to run the read option. 85 CAR (Carrying) is above average for a QB and should stop him from having too many fumbles. 88 ELU (Elusiveness) 96 BCV (Ball Carrying Vision) 86 SFA (Stiff Arm) 93 SPM (Spin Move) and 94 JKM (Juke Move) makes Cam even more dangerous when he gets in space as he is able to get around an on coming tackler. Cam, unlike most mobile QBs, can pass having 98 THP (Throw Power) and 92 TAC (Throw Accuracy). But to me the most important mobile QB stat is this TOR (Throw on the Run) and Cam has that too at a 96. Honestly if you like a mobile QB that can pass Cam is your card. The only thing I would avoid is going deep to often as he only has 80 TAD (Throw Accuracy Deep).
