This Madden 16 Defensive Tip is a very simple play to setup and gets quick heat from the outside. It can be blocked so should be used when the opportunity presents itself. It works best when your opponent has 3 or 4 wideouts.
Playbook: NE Playbook and most 3-4 playbooks
Formation: Nickel 3-3-5 Odd
Play: 3 Sky Wk Show 4
Analysis:
Another advantage to this play is that the entire Nickel 3-3-5 Odd formation has many great zones and blitzes to choose from, so you can disguise plays very well out of this formation.
In summary, this is a short and easy play to run. It is not a 100% effective NANO as I do not think any blitz is this year, but it can be an easy play to learn and should be added to everyone’s playbook.
Setup:
1.Base Align
Show Blitz/Press coverage
2.Blitz left MLB
3.Bring left CB closer to LOS (optional)
Control FS
4.Make adjustments if needed (putting your FS in a hook and the other MLB in a purple if your opponent is rolling out for corner routes).
