Madden 22 Adds 10 College Teams to Superstar KO

Madden 22

After teasing towards the addition of college teams in Madden 22 over the past few days, EA made it official. Though, it’s not exactly what gamers initially expected. On Tuesday, the Madden publisher announced the limited-time event “Campus Legends.” The event is exclusive to Madden‘s Superstar KO mode and spans all platforms.

Madden 22 Campus Legends

Campus Legends adds all-time alumni teams for 10 universities:

Each school’s roster is made up of college football legends, as well as current and retired NFL stars. The team rosters are listed on Madden‘s website.

For the first time since 2013, EA is offering players a taste of the 11-on-11 college football experience. In celebration of its College Football prequel, former EA Sports cover athletes Vince Young and Reggie Bush will face off at the Rose Bowl as their respective schools in the mode. The matchup streams tonight at 7:00 PM ET on YouTube and Twitch.

“I’ve been a Madden fan for as long as I can remember, so it’s going to be truly special to hit the sticks and see myself in my college uniform for the first time in the game,” said the Texas legend and two-time Pro Bowler, Young. “I can’t wait to take on Reggie [Bush] again in our old colors. I’ve got some serious Madden skills – looking forward to bringing home another win for the Longhorns.”

Campus Legends drops to mixed reactions from the Madden community. While some are excited to finally be able to play college football in some capacity, others are disappointed that the mode is solely tied to Superstar KO. The announcement has also drawn some ire from Franchise players who are still waiting for their scouting update, while the publishing giant makes time and allocates assets for this mode.

It’s been another turbulent release for Madden this year. The game launched with a host of issues and continues to split its community. For our Mike Straw and Chris Walker’s take on the game, be sure to check out their review.
