A little over 24 hours from the kickoff of the 2021-22 NFL season, EA is giving gamers the chance to explore Madden 22 for free. The global free-to-play trial runs from September 9 through September 12 across all platforms. This includes Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. During the trial period gamers have access to everything in the game.

“We want to give football fans everywhere, who are excited for college football and the start of the NFL Season, the opportunity to play what’s new in Madden NFL 22,” said Madden Executive Producer Sean Graddy in a statement.

On top of the trial, EA is offering a 25 percent discount on Madden 22 MVP Edition this weekend only.

Recently, the Madden team dropped a hefty title update to address a host of issues gamers have experienced since launch. However, the company received major blowback from its community by not fixing arguably the biggest problem in the game. Madden‘s broken pass coverage has drawn the ire of its users and rendered the game unplayable for many.

It remains to be seen exactly when the exclusive simulation football publisher will go back in and attempt to remedy its coverage issue. In the patch notes for the last update, the dev team said it’s “continuing to monitor and collect the community’s feedback.”
