After a stellar week one filled with heartbreaks and excitement, EA released the week one player rating updates. With Chad Ochocinco at the helm of the Madden Ratings Adjustors, here is how week one affected some key players.

Madden 22 Player Rating Updates
Jameis Winston- 75 OVR- Previously 73
Jameis Winston gave Saints fans a show against the Green Bay Packers. Winston threw five touchdowns in a blowout win. A very encouraging start for Saints fans since the retirement of Drew Brees.
Derwin James- 89 OVR- Previously 88
Sitting out of the 2020 season with a knee injury, Derwin James of the Los Angeles Chargers showed everyone why he is still a top 10 Safety in the NFL. He collected seven tackles and a pass deflection in a 20-16 victory over the Washington Football Team
Chandler Jones- 95 OVR- Previously 94
Chandler Jones put on a clinic against the Tennessee Titans. The Arizona Cardinals linebacker racked up five sacks and two forced fumbles in a 38-13 victory. Jones is one overall away from being tied with Khalil Mack for the best linebacker rating in the game.
Aaron Rodgers- 95 OVR- Previously 96
Aaron Rodgers had a tough outing against the Saints. He threw two interceptions and only threw for 133 yards. The Packers’ next game is against the Detroit Lions. If he has another MVP-like performance against them, his rating will surely go up.
Anthony Brown- 74 OVR- Previously 76
The NFL kickoff game was not very kind to Anthony Brown and the Dallas Cowboys. Brown was picked apart by Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. He was targeted 10 times allowing nine catches for 134 yards and a touchdown.
Taylor Lewan- 83 OVR- Previously 85
Tennessee Titans Taylor Lewan was systematically torn apart by Chandler Jones. In his first game back from an ACL tear, he had a very unfavorable matchup against Jones. However, he took accountability for his performance on Twitter, vowing to become better.
