Madden 23 Honors John Madden with New Game Mode

If you thought you’d seen the last of the NFL in the Oakland Coliseum then think again. Madden 23 will honor the greatness of the Oakland Raiders Super Bowl XI winning coach, John Madden.

This new game mode is called, the ‘John Madden Legacy Game’. It will spotlight some of the best NFL players ever to set foot on the gridiron. Some of these legends have been perennial “All-Madden” selections throughout the course of history. These names include but are not limited to Junior Seau, Tom Brady, Antonio Gates, Ray Lewis, Jerry Rice, Marcus Allen, Randy Moss, Brett Favre, and Deion Sanders.

From the looks of things, we might time travel back to 1976 with coach Madden’s signature short-sleeved striped shirt and black tie. The game mode will be played at the Oakland Coliseum where coach Madden will be seen gracing the sideline in the same blue jeans and dark blue polo shirt that he was wearing when he won Super Bowl XI.

Madden 23, featuring John Madden both on the cover and in the game, launches on August 19 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
