It is about that time. As Madden NFL 23 inches toward release, we get more ratings of some of the best the NFL has to offer. Electronic Arts revealed the ratings of the rookie and veteran wide receivers. Let’s start with the veteran wide receivers.
Top WR Ratings of Madden 23
1. Davante Adams – Las Vegas Raiders- 99 OVR
To no one’s surprise, Davante Adams is back in the 99 Club. Adams is one of the best route runners in the NFL. He made headlines after being traded to the Raiders in the offseason, reuniting with his Fresno State teammate Derek Carr. Adams is coming off a career year in reception and receiving yards.
2. Cooper Kupp – Los Angeles Rams- 98 OVR
Not far behind is Superbowl MVP Cooper Kupp at 98 OVR. Kupp had a fantastic NFL season, leading the league in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. He did this en route to an AP Offensive Player of the Year award. He also set a post-season record for receptions with 33. A 98 OVR seems fitting.
3. Tyreek Hill – Miami Dolphins- 97 OVR
Tyreek Hill set the NFL on fire after requesting a trade from the Kansas City Chiefs. The Dolphins’ newest addition is rocking a 97 OVR. ‘Cheetah’ is a former Superbowl champion, 4- time all-pro, and has six pro-bowl selections. He will be a valuable asset to the Dolphins.
4. DeAndre Hopkins – Arizona Cardinals- 96 OVR
DHOP is one of the best WR in the game. Hopkins has some of the best hands in the league. While Houston stays in disarray, Hopkins thrives on the Cardinals. In his first season with them, Hopkins had a career high in receptions with 115. Hopkins has five pro-bowl selections to go along with 5 all-pro selections.
5. Stefon Diggs – Buffalo Bills- 95 OVR
Stefon Diggs continues to be a perennial top 10 WR in the NFL. In his first season with the Bills, Diggs racked up a league-best 127 receptions with 1535 yards. He followed that up with 103 receptions for 1225 yards. He is a perfect receiver to round out the top 5.
6. Justin Jefferson – Minnesota Vikings- 93 OVR
Starting the bottom 5 is Justin Jefferson. The king of the griddy shed any indications of a sophomore slump. Jefferson shined with career-bests almost across the board. It may be presumptuous to say, but Jefferson could be the best receiver for Minnesota since Randy Moss.
7. Mike Evans- Tampa Bay Buccaneers- 92 OVR
Mike Evans is a stud. The 6’5″ receiver out of Texas A&M was one of Brady’s favorite targets on their way to a Super Bowl win in 2020. Evans has racked up 1000-yard seasons in 8 consecutive seasons.
8. Terry McLaurin- Washington Commanders- 91 OVR
Scary Terry is one of the best young guns in the NFL. McLaurin has racked up 1000-yard seasons in two of his last three seasons in the NFL. He continues to be a bright spot for the Commanders.
9. Keenan Allen- Los Angeles Chargers- 91 OVR
Another prolific route runner, Keenan Allen is a five-time pro bowler and the 2017 comeback player of the year. With one of the best quarterbacks at the helm, Allen continues to showcase his impeccable skill.
10. Amari Cooper- Cleveland Browns- 90 OVR
Amari Cooper is one of the most underrated receivers in the NFL. The Brown’s newest acquisition is a man of many talents. He has speed, hands, and is a top route runner in the league. Cooper is a four-time pro bowler with an incredible feel for the game. He is a great player to round out the top WR in Madden 23
