Madden 25 Top 10 Safeties Revealed

Madden 25 ratings reveals are always some of the most fun leading up to release. We have already covered the wide receivers; now it’s time for the safeties as we head towards the game’s launch on August 13.

Madden 25 Top Safeties

1. Jessie Bates III- Atlanta Falcons- (96 OVR)

Bates, a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, starts us off. He made a name for himself with the Cincinnati Bengals before taking his talents to the A. It was in his first season in Atlanta that he solidified himself as one of the best safeties in the game. He posted career highs across the board, earning him his first Pro Bowl and second all-pro selection.

2. Antoine Winfield Jr. – Tampa Bay Buccaneers- (94 OVR)

Antonie Winfield Jr made an immediate impact when he arrived in the NFL. He was a pivotal member of the Super Bowl-winning Buccaneers in 2020. Since then, Winfield has continued to establish himself as a dominant safety, posting career highs in his stats, including a league-leading six forced fumbles.

3. Minkah Fitzpatrick- Pittsburgh Steelers- (93 OVR)

Minkah Fitzpatrick had an off year in 2023 due to unfortunate injuries. Despite that, he still made the Pro Bowl. He is still a huge threat on the Steelers’ defense, which is anchored by TJ Watt. 

4. Derwin James Jr.- Los Angeles Chargers- (91 OVR)

Derwin James is a premier player on the Chargers. Going into his seventh season, James has three All-Pro selections and is a three-time pro bowler. In his 2023 campaign, James had a career-high in solo and combined tackles.

5. Tyrann Mathieu- New Orleans Saints- (91 OVR)

The Honey Badger is entering his 11th season in the NFL. Since arriving in his home city, Mathieu has made an impact on the defensive side of the ball. He has multiple all-pro selections, is a multi-time pro bowler, and has won a Super Bowl.

6. Budda Baker- Arizona Cardinals- (90 OVR)

Buddha Baker had a rough 2023 after getting injured early in the season. Once he returned, he reminded the league why he was amongst the best safeties. Baker is a six-time pro bowler and has multiple all-pro selections. He is unquestionably one of the leaders on the Arizona Cardinals.

7. Kevin Byard III- Chicago Bears- (89 OVR)

Kevin Byard looks to get a fresh start as a member of the Chicago Bears. He spent most of his career with the Titans before getting traded to Philly and then released in March 2024. Now, as a member of the Bears, Byard looks to get back on track as the all-pro caliber safety that he is known for being.

8. Kyle Hamilton- Baltimore Ravens- (89 OVR)

Kyle Hamilton is going into his third NFL season. Once he became a first-string safety, Hamilton reminded everyone why he was picked 14th overall in the 2022 draft. He posted career highs across the board, was named first-team all-pro, and received his first pro bowl selection.  

9. Talanoa Hufanga- San Francisco 49ers- (88 OVR)

Talanoa Hufanga’s season ended abruptly after he tore his ACL in week 11. His career is still very young, but when he returns, he will bolster an already strong 49ers defense. He is already an all-pro caliber safety.

10. Jevon Holland- Miami Dolphins- (88 OVR)

Jevon Holland is a young star in the making. He does not have the accolades as the names above him, but he has the potential. Despite an MCL sprain causing an abrupt end to his season, Holland has shown he can be a pivotal member of the Miami Dolphins.
