Welcome to part 6 of our series where we’ll now show you the sleepers of the position responsible for defending the Julio, Dez Odell Beckham’s of the world. Yes, it’s the cornerbacks.

  1. Cody Riggs (Tennessee Titans)

24 Years Old
72 Overall
90 Speed
81 Man Coverage
79 Zone Coverage

Riggs has good speed and acceleration and is one of the better cover guys on the list, with 81 man and 79 zone coverage. The thing is, he won’t win any strongest man competitions with his 49 press, so you best want to play him off coverage until you get that up. He also has the tackle rating of a punter and 82 jump, but besides those small details, at 72 Overall he’s a better defender than he has the right to be.

  1. James Bradberry (Carolina Panthers)

23 Years Old
70 Overall
91 Speed
92 Acceleration
76 Hit Power

Bradberry has 91 speed and 92 acceleration and has the bonus of being able to hit stick defenders with his 76 hit power, which is basically equivalent of a 95 for safeties.  He’s an average man defender to start and has a decent zone coverage rating of 81 to build up.

  1. P.J. Williams (New Orleans Saints)

23 Years Old
70 Overall
95 Acceleration
78 Man Coverage
82 Zone Coverage

Williams has 90 speed, 91 jump and one of the highest acceleration ratings in the game at a 95. Has decent zone and man coverage ratings of 78 and 82 respectively and Williams also has big hitter ability with 74 hit power.

  1. Xavien Howard (Miami Dolphins)

23 Years Old
72 Overall
91 Speed
71 Catch
81 Man Coverage

Howard has 81 man, 79 zone coverage and 82 press, which are all great starting points for the 23 year old. Along with 91 speed and 71 catch makes Howard a very well rounded young cornerback to have.

  1. Eric Rowe (New England Patriots)

23 Years Old
74 Overall
90 Speed
78 Man Coverage
82 Press

Rowe shows off his safety experience having 71 tackle, accompanied by 90 speed, acceleration and agility ratings. Along with a slightly above average man rating of 78, and a 82 press rating, if you’re in need of a man corner you can’t go wrong with Rowe.

  1. Darquese Dennard (Cincinnati Bengals)

24 Years Old
75 Overall
90 Speed
92 Press
82 Man Coverage

Need somebody cheap to play bump and run? Well at 75 overall Dennard is a great choice with 92 press and a 82 man coverage rating. He’s a slow development trait so that bumped him down the list, but having those numbers with 72 catch, makes him a perfect young starting corner day 1, because with 72 zone that’s pretty much the only thing he can do at a high level to start.

  1. Lamarcus Joyner (Los Angeles Rams)

25 Years Old
75 Overall
71 Catch
80 Hit Power
80 Man Coverage

Joyner is another corner/safety hybrid, but he has the best of both worlds in a way. 71 catch, 67 tackle and 80 hit power on one hand and 80 man, 79 zone and 77 press on the other. So aside from being a tick slower than your average corner, Joyner has no other glaring weaknesses.

  1. Quinten Rollins (Green Bay Packers)

24 Years Old
77 Catch
83 Man Coverage
82 Press
74 Hit Power

Rollins won’t be covering the DeSean Jackson’s on streak routes anytime soon, but with 83 man and 82 press along with 77 catching, Rollins’ 73 overall is a very nice low rated option.

  1. Jimmie Ward (San Francisco 49ers)

25 Years Old
75 Overall
89 Speed
77 Hit Power
82 Man Coverage

Ward, the last of our hybrid defenders, has 77 hit power and 82 man, 77 zone and 83 press. His zone and play rec ratings are above average for a cornerback also, so besides having the potential as a man to man bump and run corner can develop into a jack of all trades one as well.

And Sports Gamers Online’s #1 Sleeper Cornerback is:

Damarious Randall (Green Bay Packers)

24 Years Old

77 Overall
90 Speed
73 Catch
80 Man Coverage
83 Press

Randall is a quick development trait, and is only the 2nd guy on the list to have 90+ in speed, acceleration and agility. To go along with his 73 catch, 72 play rec, 80 man and 83 press.  Need I say more? So it’s without question why he’s atop Sports Gamers Online’s Top 10 Sleeper Cornerback List.

Christopher Walker

I have been playing football games since 99’. All starting with the NFL Game Day demo and NFL Blitz on PlayStation, then I moved on to Madden for the next 5 years, where I really didn't know what I was going yet. I flirted with NFL 2K for a year, but have played Madden and NCAA (up until its demise last year) ever since steadily improving my game each year and developing a passion for the X’s and O’s part of football.
