Madden NFL 23 Announces Dual Entitlement Program

Madden NFL 23

EA Sports has dropped a ton of Madden NFL 23 news including a release date and much more.  This latest bit of news covers details on the dual entitlement program for fans seeking to eventually switch from last to current gen consoles.

For those unaware, Dual Entitlement means players can upgrade copies of the Madden NFL 23 All Madden Edition from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S at no additional cost. Simply put, it gives players access to the game on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, or Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Madden NFL 23 Dual Entitlement Programs

Dual Entitlement is only available with the purchase of the Madden NFL 23 All Madden Edition. The Standard Edition of Madden 23 does not include Dual Entitlement. This means players who purchase Madden NFL 23 Standard Edition on PS4 and upgrade to PS5 later will need to purchase the PS5 version of the game to play.

Per usual, Dual Entitlement only covers consoles within the same family. So PS4 to Xbox Series X does not work. In addition, players will need to purchase the Madden 23 All Madden Edition which is only available digitally to take advantage of the Dual Entitlement offer.

With Dual Entitlement, player can access and play both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 version of Madden 23 on PlayStation 5, or both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S version of Madden NFL 23 on Xbox Series X|S. Players can switch back and forth between each version of the game, providing they are both installed on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.

While player will see preorder content transfer between consoles, their will not be internal cross-play within the families of consoles.
