Football season is almost upon us. With a new college football and NFL season just around the corner, gamers are itching for a new football experience. Well, there is a new free-to-play football video game, STG Football, that is looking to put a new spin on football games.
STG Football heading to Steam & console
STG Football is a new free-to-play football video game that is looking to offer a fun alternative to other popular titles on the market. The game was created by SuperTeam Games. The founders of SuperTeam Games previously created the popular MLB Tap Sports Baseball mobile game. MLB Tap Sports Baseball was one of the most popular free mobile sports games and was eventually acquired by Glu and EA.
STG Football is a multiplayer 7v7 multiplayer game. Each player controls one player on the field on both offense and defense. Each team will have four players controlled by four different users, while the remaining three players are controlled by AI. The game features in-game audio chat so users can coordinate and work together. This setup seeks to encourage teamwork and users interacting with one another.
The gameplay in STG Football is different from other football games. The game seeks to be easy for players to pick up and quickly learn how to play. The rules are similar to professional football but there are a few key differences. For example, there are no penalties. Players will also have to manage their abilities and energy in order to make plays when it matters most. The arcade style of gameplay puts a bigger focus on players being in the right place at the right time instead of relying on chance.
STG Football also features several NFL superstars through an NFLPA licensing agreement. This means you can use players like Tyreek Hill, Nick Bosa, Travis Kelce, and more! There are several ways players can collect and level up Superstars in the game. Players will begin with several free Superstars that cannot be traded or sold. Players can also earn more Superstars through tournaments, in-game achievements, and other promotional events. Superstars can also be purchased through packs in the STG Store or on the STG Marketplace.
STG Football is now available on the Epic Games Store, where the game is listed as a Blockchain/NFT Game. This version of the game features the STG Marketplace. This allows players to buy, sell, and collect packs, Superstars, and other in-game items. Players can then cash out with real money their proceeds from each sale on the Marketplace. The STG Marketplace is not available in the Steam version of STG Football, where the game is also available now for free. The STG Marketplace will also not be available in the console version, which is scheduled to be released later this year.
