Console NFL 2K Game Still in Development

Yesterday saw the release of 2K’s newest football title, NFL 2K Playmakers. This mobile game is a card-battling title that lets players build their teams and compete against each other. As you may know, this didn’t please many fans who are waiting for a ‘real’ 2K football title to hit consoles. However, sources at 2K have told Sports Gamers Online that NFL 2K Playmakers is only one game they have planned for the NFL licensing, and more are set to come in the future.

Console NFL 2K game in development?

Following the backlash from the announcement of NFL 2K Playmakers, sources at 2K have told Sports Gamers Online that the release of 2K’s mobile game is just the start of what they have planned for NFL 2K. Hinting that another game is undoubtedly in development. But is this the console game fans have been waiting for?

Following this report, Mike Straw of Insider Gaming tweeted something similar to what Sports Gamers Online was told. “After speaking with multiple sources,” Mike Straw tweeted, “it’s been reiterated to me that NFL 2K Playmakers is just the “first step” in the game release plan with the license between the NFL and 2K.”

2K undoubtedly has something cooking for football fans, and 2K NFL Playmakers is just the beginning. Football fans have been waiting for something to rival EA Sports’ Madden NFL for a long time.

If Sports Gamers Online gets word on any more news regarding this story, you’ll be the first to hear it.
