Philly Special Will Be Available in Madden 20

Eagles fans, along with football enthusiasts who were amazed by the “Philly Special” in Super Bowl 52 will get a chance to re-create the play in Madden 20, as a Madden developer confirmed that the play call will be available in this year’s game.

Philly Special

In one of the most memorable moments in Super Bowl history, Nick Foles, the Super Bowl 52 MVP, caught a touchdown pass from Trey Burton on a 4th and goal to give the Eagles a 21-12 lead in the game, a game they would eventually win 41-33 to claim their first ever Super Bowl in franchise history. The play, which would be known as the “Philly Special” became legendary, and now the play will be available for Madden users in Madden 20.

On the “Eagle Eye in the Sky” podcast, Madden game developer Anthony White confirmed that the play will be available in this year’s game. White said that the play will be available in other teams’ playbooks as well, and despite several teams running copycat plays, the play will be called ‘Philly’. Users will also be able to run a ‘Fake Philly Special’ in addition to the regular play.

However, unless you edit the rosters, you won’t be able to use Burton or Foles to run the play with the Eagles, as Burton is currently with the Chicago Bears, while Nick Foles signed a four-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars in March.
