The NFL season kicks off this weekend, and to celebrate EA Sports is offering fans a Free Play Weekend. From September 8th through September 11th, players can try out Madden NFL 23 completely free. This free trial is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The deal doesn’t stop there. If players enjoy what they experience during the Free Play Weekend, they will be given the offer to purchase the All-Madden Edition of Madden NFL 23 for up to 25% off!

This is a great chance for the already successful Madden NFL 23 to bring in even more players. EA Sports said that Madden NFL 23 saw a 30% increase in games played during its launch week compared to Madden NFL 22. Apparently, a large chunk of those games have involved the Buffalo Bills in one way or another. The Bills have seen a 115% increase in usage compared to last year’s game. The Bills are also featured in each of the top five most-played matchups so far in Madden NFL 23. Their most common opponents so far include the Rams, Chargers, Buccaneers, Dolphins, and Cowboys. Meanwhile, Bills players Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Von Miller, and Tre’Davious White lead in passing TDs, receptions, sacks, and interceptions.

Speaking on the early success of Madden NFL 23, EA Sports Madden NFL Executive Produce Seann Graddy said, “Our team is passionate about creating the best experience for our players every time they start up Madden NFL 23 and we never stop improving the game after its release.” Graddy added, “We’ve seen so much positive response to things like our new gameplay system, FieldSENSE and other features since launch and we look forward to continuing to deliver the best simulation football experience with new content throughout the NFL season.”

New Madden Title Update

Some of that new content will come this weekend with a new title update. This update will feature improvements to the game based on player feedback. Also in the update is a new track for the soundtrack. The title ‘CHECKMATE’ by two-time GRAMMY nominee Cordae and three-time GRAMMY winner Hit-Boy will arrive in Madden NFL 23 this weekend.

The Madden NFL 23 Championship Series (MCS) gets underway tonight at 6:30 pm ET, with the start of the Ultimate Kickoff tournament on Twitch and YouTube. Fans can tune in at this same time on Friday, September 9th to see which competitor will end up taking the title and winning the first MCS Major tournament of the year.
