This is a surprisingly good year for Golf games. With Mario Golf: Super Rush coming in June and EA Sports PGA Tour on the horizon, it makes sense that 2K would continue to push content for PGA Tour 2K21. With that in mind, 2K dropped a cosmetic collaboration that lets players show off their NBA spirit on the links. Starting today, players will be able rep their favorite NBA team in PGA Tour 2K21.
The golf x NBA crossover adds team logo tee shirts to the MyPLAYER shop. A little bit of team swag is nice; if I were a bigger Pacers fan, I’d be interested in this kind of crossover. Unfortunately, you do have to buy them. The shirts will run you 2000 VC, or about $20, each. The hats cost 1000 VC, roughly $10. You can earn VC in-game, of course, but these prices are a bit more expensive than the rest of the clothes available. With black as the only shirt color, they’re a little boring and maybe not worth the price. The hats, at least, incorporate team colors better.
PGA Tour 2K21 Keeps Its Eyes On the Ball
The latest content drop isn’t as exciting as Divot Derby, 2K’s fast-paced new multiplayer mode. Not every update needs to be, though. Plus, some fresh new digs never hurt a game. With EA’s future competitor already applying pressure, I’m sure 2K has a lot of the team working on the inevitable PGA Tour 2K22. It’s nice, then, that we’re still getting some new content, even if it’s cosmetic.
