With the full reveal coming on August 25, EA Sports has revealed the NHL 23 cover athletes. Gracing the cover this year are Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras and Canadian women’s star and Olympic Gold Medalist Sarah Nurse.
Nurse becomes the first woman to grace the cover of an NHL game after the series introduced women’s international teams for the first time via an NHL 22 update.

With Zegras on the cover, NHL 23 will see “The Zegras” added to the game after his highlight reel play last season, passing the puck over the top of the net to set up a goal.
“They’re doing stuff where you’re saying, ‘That should be in a video game first and in the NHL second,'” Mike Inglehart told ESPN. “Who knows where it goes? There’s probably something that ends up in NHL 24 that we’re not even thinking about right now.”
NHL 23 launches October 14.
