Lego 2K Drive Announced with an Open World and Release Date

Welcome to a new Lego Land!

Earlier this week, a rumor was circling the internet of a new Lego racing game by 2K. The rumor kicked off after XboxEra’s Shpeshal_Nick claimed some of his sources told him about an upcoming game open-world Lego game by 2K. However, our actual first bit of news about this game was last year when VGC reported that 2K was working on Lego-related titles. Fast forward to Thursday, the NBA 2K publisher has officially announced Lego 2K Drive.

2K and Lego have sealed the deal

Sports Gamers Online did reach out to the publisher to comment on the speculation, but it didn’t take long for the game’s official announcement. In a press release, 2K announced its partnership with Lego and that Lego 2K Drive is their first project in a multi-title deal.

“Video games have long been an important way our fans experience the magic of the LEGO System-in-Play, and 2K’s strong track record of delivering quality, innovative titles for a broad range of audiences makes them the perfect partner to create the next iconic AAA LEGO games,” said Remi Marcelli, Head of LEGO Game.
