2024 has been a great year for football video games. Besides the usual release of the yearly Madden NFL, there have been several new releases for fans of America’s favorite sport. We’ve had College Football 25, College Bowl, and more. Now, another football game has released early access, and has fans excited for the possibilities to come.
Early Access Release
Today, Maximum Entertainment has released Maximum Football into Early Access on Steam. The independent football game is now free-to-play for anyone with a PC and a Steam account. Maximum Football is the first release in the series since Maximum Football 2020, which was released on PS4 and Xbox One in September 2020.
The Early Access release includes online multiplayer, the College Dynasty mode, and the full customization suite. The online multiplayer mode lets players construct a roster of players via a card collecting system. Players will be able to be upgraded, merged, and even customized. Players can then take on others in ranked, online matches to earn rewards and XP.
In the College Dynasty mode, players can build the university of their dreams. Players will be able to recruit their players, customize their playbooks, and manage team and stadium personnel for years to come.
The customization suite was one of the most positively received part of the game during the open beta held earlier this year. This same suite returns in the Early Access release. Along with it are a spread of premium content that players can purchase.
The game’s Steam page says that the game will remain in Early Access until the full release, which is expected to take place in the first half of 2025. However, once the full game releases, it will still be free-to-play. More modes are slated to be added before the full release, including Franchise mode (professional league) and Career mode.
It’s so funny game!
