Fans of MLB The Show are going to get a chance to play the latest installment of the series nearly three months early.
In a special development stream on Twitch, Sony San Diego Studios announced that a closed Alpha for MLB The Show 18 will take place this weekend.
According to the game’s website, the Alpha is to help improve the online experience for fans for MLB The Show 18. Players will be able to take part in a “limited Diamond Dynasty experience” that features Head-to-Head matchups, Battle Royale, Conquest, and Extra Innings.
They also warn players who are selected to expect a number of crashes, bugs and other issues due to it being still early in the game’s development cycle.
The alpha will begin Friday, December 22nd at 10am PDT, and will run until Tuesday, December 26th at 10am PDT. Those who are selected to be a part of the Alpha will receive an invite via PlayStation 4 message with downloads starting December 21st.
MLB The Show launches March 27, 2018 for PlayStation 4.
