There is just about a week left in the MLB season, and the final stretch has been full of excitement. Aaron Judge hit 61 and Albert Pujols 700; both crossed monumental milestones, as several teams make their push for the postseason.  Ahead of what is sure to be a plethora of postseason content, MLB The Show 22 has added another small content update with new packs, Topps Now cards, and double XP. They also added perhaps the best card in the entire game to honor Albert’s milestone.

MLB The Show 22: Late September Update

Topps Now

The next set of Topps Now cards are now available to earn in the September Monthly Awards Program. Players can complete this week’s moments to earn three new 95 OVR Topps Now cards:

  • Phillies CF Matt Vierling
  • Yankees 2B Gleyber Torres
  • Orioles SP Dean Kremer

Collecting these three cards, along with all the previous Topps Now cards in the September Monthly Awards Program, will earn players a 98 OVR Topps Now Kolten Wong.

Double XP Week

This is the final week of the Legends of the Franchise Featured Program. This will be the last chance for players to earn their 18 free cards from this series, all of which are 99 OVR. To help with that, players will earn double XP towards the Featured Program from now until the program ends on October 7th.

Albert Pujols 700 Pack

Three new packs were introduced to The Show Shop this week. The first was a free redemption pack for 99 OVR Milestone Albert Pujols. This card was created to honor Pujols becoming the fourth member of the 700 HR club. This pack is completely free for all players and has some of the best hitting stats in the entire game!

The second set of the Juicy Pack is now available in The Show Shop. This pack has two potential rounds, base (1:1) and rare (1:5). Both rounds consist of 4 99 OVR cards each. These cards include:

Base:

  • Cubs CP Bruce Sutter
  • Cardinals SP Lou Brock
  • Rangers SS Michael Young
  • Pirates LF Ralph Kiner

Rare:

  • Reds SP Tom Seaver
  • Pirates SS Honus Wagner
  • Braves C Joe Torre
  • Braves 3B Eddie Matthews

The 50th Headliner Set is now available for purchase in The Show Shop. The newest Headliner is 99 OVR Retro Finest Barry Larkin. This card is based on Larkin’s 1996 season. Larking hit 33 HRs in ’96, a career high to go along with 89 RBIs and 36 SBs. This allowed Larkin to become the first SS to enter the 30-30 club.
