MLB The Show fans have been waiting patiently for any sort of news about the next game in the series. Content for MLB The Show 22 wrapped up a few weeks ago, and now players are desperate to learn when the new game will arrive. Well, it seems players won’t have to wait too much longer.
MLB The Show Cover Athlete Reveal
In a tweet early Thursday morning, MLB The Show announced that they will be announcing their cover athlete on Monday, January 30 at 12pm PT. The announcement will take place on the San Diego Studios Twitch channel. Hopefully, we will also learn when MLB The Show 23 will be released.
While there is not a whole lot of information released yet about MLB The Show 23, there are a few things we do know already. Thanks to some information from the Brazilian ratings board, we know what consoles MLB The Show 23 will be releasing on. The Brazilian ratings board rated the game on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. This means another year where the game will be cross-generational.
The timing of this announcement is similar to last year when SDS announced Shohei Ohtani as the MLB The Show 22 cover athlete. This seems to suggest that SDS is following a production schedule for MLB The Show 23 that is similar to what they did for MLB The Show 22. MLB The Show 22 released on April 5, 2022. If this pattern holds, then we could guess that MLB The Show 23 will be released around the same time. However, we won’t know until it is officially announced, hopefully on Monday.
